Aurebesh was a writing system commonly used to represent the Basic language. The name came from a combination of the first two letters, Aurek and Besh.
Aurebesh implemented consonants, vowels, digraphs, and punctuation marks. Words were separated by spaces. Aurebesh could be written mainly left-to-right or up-to-down. All letters are the same relative size, although occasionally symbols were mirror-inverted to denote capital letters. The symbol for the RepublicCredit was a Resh (R for Republic) with two vertical lines through the upper half of the symbol. Letters of the alphabet were also used to denote musical keys, such as the key of Cresh.
Aurebesh was thought to have come from the writing system of the RakatanInfinite Empire, introduced to the galaxy at large during the Empire's reign. It spread during the Alsakan Conflicts approximately 17,000 years before the Battle of Yavin.[1] However, already by 25,793 BBY, Aurebesh was used by the inhabitants of the Settled Worlds, prior to their first contact with the Rakata. When contact was made, the Rakatan Aurebesh was apparently identical to that used in the Settled Worlds.[2][3]
In an unused SithHolocron prop for Attack of the Clones, upside-down Aurebesh writing can be translated as "IN UMBRIS POTESTAS EST",[4]Latin for "power is in the shadows".
In the 2004 DVD release of A New Hope, the words displaying information as Obi-Wan Kenobi deactivates the tractor beam on the Death Star, which were written using the Roman alphabet in previous releases, are now in the Aurebesh. Note that this particular instance was the only scene in the movie to clearly show Roman letters (though highly observant viewers note that a needle on an IT-Ointerrogation droid in an earlier scene is marked "British Made").
In Return of the Jedi, Aurebesh is seen on the monitors of the Death Star II control center, when Darth Vader's shuttle is about to land. These graphics predate the West End Games description of Aurebesh, and produce gibberish if those letter assignments are used.
In the theatrical film, one of the gunships that bring the clones to Teth has nose art of a Twi'lekfemale in clone trooperarmor, with the ship's name, "LUCKY LEKKU" written in Aurebesh[5]. The text is notable for its very casual, handwritten style. The Crumb Bomber, a gunship seen in the hangar bay of the shipObi-Wan Kenobi lands on after returning from Tatooine, has nose art that features a Kowakian monkey-lizard wielding a bomb, with the inscription "LAUGH THIS OFF"[6]. The Spaceward Ho!, a gunship aboard the hangar of the Defiant (the transport ship that brings Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano to Teth), also has an Aurebesh inscription, but it is unreadable in the film (it re-appears in the episode Storm Over Ryloth). The text on the medicine cupboards in the Twilight reads "MEDICAL". When the ship is approaching Tatooine, the console display says "TWILI[obscured]". Billboards outside Ziro's club, read "WWW STARWARS COM".[7] A sign outside the club reads "ZIRO'S PALACE". Another sign, written in upside-down mirror-inverted Aurebesh, says "CORUSCANT NIGHT LIFE " : "IN FOR THE BEST" : "ZIRO'S PALACE", with an Aurebesh Zerek (Z, for Ziro) in the corner.
In "Destroy Malevolence", when the Malevolence is attempting to jump to hyperspace, the control display says "OFFLINE". For some reason, the text is upside down.
In "Rookies", on the Rishi Station landing platform, white text says "O 85". A display inside the base says "SOME TEXT" and "SENTOSA" (the rest is unreadable). Hevy's detonator screen reads "ATTE RUL3Z SOME TEXT".[11] After the base is destroyed, the data screen that GeneralGrievous is looking at says "ENEMY SIGNAL DETECTED", "REPUBLIC OUTPOST" and "LIFE SIGNS DETECTED". The Lucky Lekku and the Crumb Bomber are used to rescue surviving clone troopers after the destruction of Rishi Station.
In "Downfall of a Droid", the tactical readouts include the text "ATTE RUL3Z",[12][9][10] "TAKE THAT GRIEVOUS",[12][9][10] "SOME TEXT", "SENTOSA" (also seen on a display in Rishi Station in "Rookies"), "COORDINATS" [sic], "REPUBLIC BAT[image ends] 4 CRUISERS" and "SITUATED OTALLY A". The rest of the text is gibberish, as is Grievous' data when he discovers Anakin's tracking beacon. A green separatist display says "OF ANYTHING" and "FUNNY TEST"; the rest of the display shows words that are gibberish, and various combinations of Aurebesh numbers and characters. The GS-100 salvage ship is painted with the Aurebesh symbols Vev and Cresh (VC, for Vulture's Claw). The display in Anakin's Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor includes the words "TEMP", "FUEL", "LOCK", "FUEL GAUGE", "TOP", "MID" and "HOT" (the rest is gibberish). When Ahskoka discovers Anakin's tracking signal, the Republic display says "KOPI" . "3 CHEERS F[obscured symbol]R AUNTIES AND MING S[obscured symbol]WSATPING PONG".
In "Duel of the Droids", when Rex discovers the Separatistbattlesphere, the display reads "ZOOM IN" and "SKYTOP STATION". The rest of the text, as well as R2-D2's data screen,[13] is gibberish. The mirror-inverted text on the data display when Gha Nachkt arrives at Skytop Station is also gibberish, except for the words "ZOOM IN".
In "Lair of Grievous", the display on EV-A4-D shows Aurebesh symbols, which have no actual meaning.
In "Jedi Crash", a starship display reads "IMPACT!"[14][9][10] and a medical display reads "STAND BY FOR PROGNOSIS".[14] When the ship is preparing to jump to hyperspace, a small screen says "HYPERDRIVE ONLINE". The T-series tactical droid has the letter Trill (T) on its chest and head.
In "Trespass", Obi-Wan Kenobi's macrobinoculars read "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT".
In "The Hidden Enemy", while tactical droidTJ-55 is being robolotomised, a display says "[obscured]TEMS CLEAR". The droid's head reads "TACTICAL".[16] A display screen reads "SENDING", "RECEIVING" and "LOCATING STATUS".[16] A data device used by captain Rex says "FREQUENCY" and "POWER", in upside-down, mirror-inverted Aurebesh. When Rex and commanderCody are discussing the transmissions, a screen behind them says "TARGETS LOCATED" (note that the words are blurred and may not be readable on every television/computer screen). The clone Sketch has a Senth (S) tattooed on his brow.[16][9][10][17] When Rex and Cody are tracking clone trooper Slick, the device on Rex's wrist says "TRACKER ACTIVATED". The display on a pair of macrobinoculars display says "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT". When the clone troopers exit the base during the explosion, a yellow, mirror-inverted sign on the building says "AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY" (again, this may not be readable on every screen). When Rex and Cody are running from the explosion, the white text on the landing field says "KEEP CLEAR" (with the first letter of both words obscured). An unidentified tactical droid has the letter Trill (T) on its chest.
In "Mystery of a Thousand Moons", a screen inside the sealed room says "LOW" and "POWER LEVELS". The city Cliffhold is filled with Aurebesh graffiti, including "[obscured]RANCE", "SAVE IEGO", "VULTURE WORLD" (accompanied by an illustration of a vulture droid), "JAYBOO" [sic], "FREEDON MO", "CALL US" (graffitied over a set of pin-up posters of various women), "IEGO SUCK[obscured]", "[image begins]EED OF THE WORLD [plus another symbol at the end, which is obscured]", "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH U", "IEGO FRONTIER INN", "IEGO CITY HALL" and "CLONE BATTLE DROLD". Several buildings are marked with large Aurebesh marquees: "KRISTAL SKULL",[18] "SIVOUSPLAY", "CIRCUSCI CUS", "IEGO CASINO", "CASINO" (on Iego Casino), "IMPERIAL PALACE", "FRONTIER INN", "INN" (on Frontier Inn) and "[obscured]DADEL".
In "Innocents of Ryloth", the Crumb Bomber is Obi-Wan's lead gunship in the Battle of Ryloth.[20] The display screen at the Separatist command center reads "COMIC RELIEF"[20][9][10] and "PHASE". The display seen through a clone troopers macrobinoculars says "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT". TX-20 has the letter Trill (T) on its chest and head. When Obi-Wan is preparing to fire the cannon, the display says "X: 11Y: 38" (a reference to 1138) and "RANGE: 3838".
In "Liberty on Ryloth", the Lightning Squadron AT-RTs are marked "BEA",[21] "EO" (behind) and "T" (Trill) (behind). The recon droid's display says "RANGE". The T-series tactical droid has the Trill-symbol on its chest. A Separatist display reads "TACTICAL VEHICLE ANALYSIS" and "ADDITIONAL TACTICAL VEHICLE ANALYSIS" (the remaining text is too small to read). A Republic display includes the text "TROUBLE ON THE HORIZON"[21], "STATUS REPORT OF ADVANCE TROOPER RECOGNITION THERAPY SYNDROME EVALUATION TEAM CURRENT PHASE OF EXPERIMENT PROCEEDING SATISFACTORILY ACCORDING TO PROJECTED SCHEDULE",[21] "SECOND MOST IMPORTANT SPORT RIGHT AFTER FOOTBALL",[21] "[obscured]IRE", "UND UBERHAUPT" (German for "and anyway") : "IF YOU CAN READ THIS, YOU SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY ON YOUR HOME THEATER EQUIPMENT!" (note that while the German words are easy to read, the rest of this in-joke is barely readable and written in extremely small characters, and may not be discernible on every television/computer screen), "RANGE 3838", "SEC 4" and "X 11 Y 38 (another 1138 reference); the rest of the text is small and unreadable. The data on Cham Syndulla shows the text "SYNDULLA, CHAM" . "HOMEPLANET: RYLOTH" . "AFFILIATION: UNKNOWN" . "HISTORY: PENDING". In the Twi'lek graveyard, one of the headstones has a moon crescent on the top and is inscribed with the name "LUNA" (the Latin name for Earth's Moon). Names found on other gravestones include "SPUDWEE", "MAX", "SAMARA" (barely readable) and "MIWY JOY" (the first two letters in the latter's name are faded and barely readable). The back of clone commanderPonds' helmet reads "SOME GUYS HAVE ALL THE LUCK".[21][9][10] The display on the macrobinoculars used by Syndulla and a clone trooper says "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN"[21] and "ZOOM OUT"[21].
In "Hostage Crisis", the text on Robonino's backpack reads "PATSFAN-01" in Aurebesh.[22] The text on the explosives reads "GHOOOE".
In "Holocron Heist", among the establishments seen in the Coruscant Underworld are "THE HOLE",[23] "PLAYLAND THEATERE", "PURPLE WERM" (note that the Starwars.com Episode Guide says "PURPLE WER";[23] that is because there is no light in the last symbol), "IHOUSE" and "ENMONST RCLUB". The dossier on Bolla Ropal says "ROPAL, BOLLA" . "HOMEWORLD " : "RODIA" . "ABILITIES" : "IN QUESTION" . "THREAT POTENTIAL" : "MINIMAL" . "ALL OTHER INFORMATION RESTRICTED".[23] The left wrist of Cato Parasitti's armor is emblazoned with the letters "UAT". Bane's data on the Jedi Temple says "LEVEL OF SECURITY" . "ELEVATION". "JEDI TEMPLE" . "MAIN ENTRANCE FULLY SECURED" . "ROOFTOP ACCESS" . "ACCESS POINTS" : "FRONT" . "SIDE" . "ROOF" . "VENTS" . "SHAFTS" . When Cato is using the computer in the Jedi Archives, the screen says "SHIELDING" . "ZOOM" . "JEDI TEMPLE" . The data display that Obi-Wan Kenobi looks at says "JEDI TEMPLE" and "ROOFTOP". Before Cad Bane jumps down the air vent, another computer screen in the Jedi Archives says "RADIUS" . "DIAMETER" . "ANGLE" . "CIRCUMFERENCE". The display on Cad Bane's security chip bombs reads "ACTIVATE" and "COUNTDOWN TO DEATH"[23][10]. After Bane jumps, the first computer reads "SECURITY VENT FANS" . "MINIMUM" . "MAXIMUM" . "FAN". The nose art on the Plo's Bros shows the face of Plo Koon between two clone troopers underneath the words "PLO'S BROS".[23] In addition, the touch-screen keyboards of the computers in the Jedi Archives use the Aurebesh symbols in alphabetical order, but display all symbols upside down.[23] Whether this was done intentionally or if it was a mistake by the animators is not known.
In "Cargo of Doom", the display on the torture device used to torment Bolla Ropal says "POWER LEVEL". On a pair of macrobinoculars, the display says "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT".
In "Children of the Force", Bane's fuel computer reads "RECENT HYPERSPACE JUMPS" . "REST COORDINATES? Y/N" . "TOTAL PARSECS BEFORE NEST [sic] SERVICE[image ends]" . "WARNING: FUEL CELLS NEAR DEPLETION". The list of planets says "PRIOIR [sic] COURSES PLOTTED" : "GLEE ANSELM" . "MUSTAFAR" . "RODIA" . "NABOO". Another part of the log reads "FUEL LEVELS". On Mustafar, a display says "SHIELD INTEGRITY" and "ALL SYSTEMS NOMINAL". Another display reads "WARNING" : "SYSTEMS CRITICAL" . TOTAL SHIELD FAILURE", and "ALL SYSTEMS NOMINAL". Later, the first display says "DANGER", and the second one reads "SHIELD INTEGRITY" and "DANGER DANGER DANGER".
In "Brain Invaders", when a clone trooper activates the tractor beam, the functions seen on the display are "ACCESS-CONTROL", "FUNC-1", "FUNC-2", "FUNC-3", "FUNC-4", "FUNC-5", "FUNC-6" (which the clone presses), "FUNC-7", "THRUST LEVEL", "T-1", "T-2" (which the clone presses), "T-3", "T-4", "T-5", "T-6", "LEVEL", "CONTROL", "VORTEX" and "DISENGAGE".
In "Grievous Intrigue", when Obi-Wan is communicating with GeneralGrievous, a small screen below Obi-Wan's image reads "HAILING CODE 4878-881" (the rest is unreadable).
In "The Deserter", a droid has a device with backwards writing. This could have been a mistake. The text reads "ATTE RUL3Z SOME TEXT", which can be seen when the Republic forces find the device. The macrobinoculars display says "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT". The clone named Kix has a tattoo on his head that says "A GOOD DROID IS A DEAD ONE".[26][10] At Cut Lawquane's farm, a medical kit next to an injured Captain Rex reads "FIRST AID".
In "Lightsaber Lost", several billboard advertisements can be seen on Coruscant written in Aurebesh. One is an advertisement for a travel agency, reading "STAR TOURSGLEE ANSELM CALL 1-800-555-6576 NOW!"[27] There is another for "SODA". Among the signs on Coruscant are "ROSS", "HOT" (part of the Ross storefront) and "NOODLES BAR"; Aurebesh can also be glimpsed on other signs. Aurebesh posters can be seen inside the building where Anakin goes to fetch Car Affa; "DASHA SIGWEED" (barely readable in this episode), "MAX RE[obscured]" (confirmed as "MAX REEBO" [sic] in "Lethal Trackdown"), and posters that are too far away to read in this episode, but seen up close in "Lethal Trackdown": "Stargazer", "Spaceworld" and "Coruscant Nights". After Ahsoka Tano's lightsaber is stolen, a blue sign says "SHOULDER ACHES".Star Tours billboard advertising a trip to Glee Anselm After Car Affa is apprehended, another sign promises "MASSAGE" . "SPECIALTY" : "SHOULDER ACHES" . "OPEN". In the Jedi Archives, a piece of text next to a mugshot of "BREA TONNIKA"' reads "LAST SEEN ON CORUSCANT" . "WANTED FOR MURDER".[28] A collection of images of Patrolian criminals shows the names underneath the pictures, but they are unreadable. The name of "BANNAMU"' is present under a mugshot of him on another archive screen (additional text can also be glimpsed). The bottom of the sign above Lauli Wahlo's noodle shop reads "NOODLES" A sign right across from the noodle shop reads "MASSAGE" Above the Spider Arms Hostel, the words "SPIDER ARM" (not "Arms") are written on the building as well as on several signs. A nearby building bears the word "CABARET" running vertically down it. Right as Ahsoka jumps off the holofeed announcement screen, "KUAT DRIVE YARDS" is displayed on the text scrolling below Palpatine's image. When Cassie Cryar climbs up the pipe, a wall with a hatch in it advises "CAUTION" - "DO NOT TOUCH". At the train station, a screen list the following destinations: "BURBANK", "ULENDALE", "ARABIA" and "ALDERAAN". Another screen at the station shows a long text which only produces gibberish. The police speeders are emblazoned with the text "SP". When Cassie destroys the beacon, a poster of a kneeling figure and Aurebesh text can be spotted in a train (it can also be glimpsed on a wall earlier in the episode); as the poster, in this episode, is far away and mirror inverted, it is difficult to read; it re-appears in "Duchess of Mandalore" and "Lethal Trackdown", which show that the text reads "SULCASKY!" - "AN EXHIBITION".
In "Voyage of Temptation", the data device that Obi-Wan is holding says "ATTE RULEZ SOME TEXT" in mirror-inverted Aurebesh.
In "Duchess of Mandalore", among the signs seen in the streets of Coruscant are "CABARET", "ONIGHT", "NOODLE BAR", "MASSAGE", "ROSS" and "HOT" (on the Ross storefront). There is an establishment called "CHEZDEZE", with the word "OPEN" underneath the name. An advertisement for "SODA" can also be seen. The display on the police probe says "DUCHESSSATINE KRYZE". The police droids' data device shows Satine's face, with the word "WANTED" underneath (the rest of the text is too small to be read). When Satine is running, a wall in a smoke-filled alley says "[image begins]ONE" (probably "phone", which appears in various episodes). The sign over the noodle shop says "GALAXY NOODLES" (only the "noodles" part was seen in "Lightsaber Lost"). When the Death Watch assassin throws the thermal detonator, a billboard behind him says "SULCASKY!" - "AN EXHIBITION" (as the edge of the billboard is obscured, the first S (Senth) looks like an L (Leth), and the E (Esk) does not show; the advertisement is seen again in "Lethal Trackdown"). The billboard next to it says "[obscured]DE [obscured]OCOL?". When the assassin approaches the Duchess after throwing the detonator, in the background, a blinking neon sign says "PHONE". The billboard that Obi-Wan throws the assassin into says "VIDEO STORE" and "KL FJK GD" - "FAD FA FED". Another sign can be glimpsed when Satine picks up Obi-Wan's lightsaber. When the Duchess surrenders, large screens at the Senate Building say "[obscured]OPOSAL SCHEDULE".
In "Senate Murders", the inscription on policeinspectorTan Divo's utility belt says "IG" and "SP". When Padmé Amidala and Bail Organa are at the docks, several containers are labeled "CARGO". Some other containers are only marked as "CAO". Tan Divo's forensic report says "FORENSIC REPORT [two blurred digits]77" . "ONACONDA FARR" . "REPORT CARRIED OUT BY FORENSIC SCIENCE COMMANDER V[unreadable symbol, possibly the number 0]A DAZ" . "NAME": "ONACONDA FARR" . "RACE" : "RODIAN" . "CAUSE OF DEATH" : "POISON" . "POISON ORIGIN" : "KAMINO" . "TESTS CARRIED OUT ON POISON INDICATES THAT THIS POISON WAS ONLY EFFECTIVE ON RODIAN BLOOD".
In "The Zillo Beast", the electro-proton bomb, attached to Goji and Rod's bomber, has a warning printed on the nose cone that reads "CAUTION ION DETONATOR." The body of the bomb has "CODE SWITCH DESIGNATOR" • "POSITION 1" • "POSITION 2" • "POSITION 3" • "POSITION 4" printed on it and on one of the tail fins, the words "THIS IS FOR YOU DOOKU" are handwritten.[29]
In "The Zillo Beast Strikes Back", walls in the outside area of the Republic Science and Technical Center show various combinations of Aurebesh letters and digits: "8H-H008", "RRB-HB", "RB-27" (barely visible) and "JZ-81". A nearby building says "HANGAR 63". When the Zillo Beast is rampaging around Coruscant, several neon signs can be seen in the streets. One says "SALE" (part of the Ross façade), another reads "ROSS", and a third one bears the text "HOT" (on a Ross store). The display on Mace Windu's macrobinoculars says "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT". Aurebesh can be glimpsed on a screen behind Aayla Secura when the Zillo Beast is approaching the Senate Building.
In "Cat and Mouse", a Republic display reads "ENEMY SHIP PROFILE" . "PROFILE" : "THE DREADNAUGHT IS KNOWN TO BE UNDER THE COMMAND OF COMMANDERTRENCH" . "THE SHIPS [sic] WEAPONS ARE DEADLY, SHEILDS[sic] ARE VERY STRONG" . "SEPARATISTSHIP" . "POINTS OF ATTACK HAVE BEEN PLOTTED OUT AND SHOWN ON THE" [text ends]. "IN 1,002 BBY (this is an error, as BBY stands for Before the Battle of Yavin, which is years into the future), THREE SHIPS OF THIS TYPE FORMED PART OF LORDKAAN's SITH FLEET DURING THE FIRST BATTLE OF RUUSAN . THESE THREE SHIPS WERE CONSIDERED A DEADLY THREAT TO TWO HAMMER-" [text ends]. When the Republic forces attack Trench's ship, the shield display says "SHIELD STATION" and contains buttons for "ACTIVATE" , "STANDBY" and "DEACTIVATE", whereas a Separatist display says "RED ALERT". When the Republic attack again, a Republic data screen says TORPEDOS READY" and the missile trigger reads "FIRE". When Trench orders his troops to lower the deflector shields, a computer display says "VISUAL RECOGNITION" and "MAG[obscured] SI[obscured]" (probably "MAGNETIC SIGNATURE"). Shortly before Trench's ship is hit, a Separatist display reads "CHRYSTOPSIS[sic] BLOCKADE" . "13 BATTLESHIPS" . "6 DREADNAUGHTS" . "STATUS GREEN", and another one says "CONDITION RED".
In "Bounty Hunters", the ship's scanner shows "SEARCH" and "POWER", in mirror-inverted Aurebesh. The survival capsules have "CAUTION" - "EXPLOSIVE EXTRUSION" written in red on the sides. The display on Hondo Ohnakaelectrobinoculars says "FINDING RANGE". When Pikk Mukmuk prepares to fire the laser cannon, the screen inside the WLO-5 speeder tank reads "TARGETS LOCATED".
In "Lethal Trackdown", when Ahsoka Tano and Plo Koon venture into the Coruscant Underworld, a GS-100 salvage ship can be seen, emblazoned with the letters "VC", "FH" and "STIM". The customs droid at the entry turnstile on Coruscant's lower levels has a readout screen that displays the text "GALACTIC REPUBLIC CUSTOMS OF CORUSCANT"[31]: "ALL PERSONS ENTERING THE LOWER LEVELS OF CORUSCANT MUST HAVE [the rest is unreadable]". The building where the droid is working is "TERMINAL 24", which can be seen after Ahsoka and Koon exit. "Galactic Republic Customs of Coruscant"Posters for various musicians can be seen in the Coruscant underlevels; there is one for "DAHSA SIGWEED" (seen in the terminal and in Tiggs Leo's tavern), another shows a unidentified Bith musician with the caption "CONCERT SOLO" (seen in the terminal and inside and outside the tavern), and a third one shows an unidentified female singer and reads "CONCERT EVERY NIGHT" (seen in the terminal and in the tavern). Posters near the Hover Taxi station show advertisements for "PHATTRO" (the name is also seen on a bottle on the bar counter in the cantina after the Jedi ignite their lightsabers), "KASHYK" [sic] and "RYLOTH", in mirror-inverted letters. After Aurra Sing lands on Florrum, a container says "CARGO". The buttons on the holoprojector that Castas uses are marked "OFF", "ON", "DISTANCE", "CALL", "PLANET" and "RANGE". Graffiti outside of Tiggs Leo's tavern says "ROGER ROGER" - the typical response of a B1 battle droid. A poster over the entrance reads "CORUSCANT BALLROOM". Many of the bottles behind the bar are labeled "SODA". There are numerous posters inside the cantina: "MAX REEBO[sic]" - "CORUSCANT NIGHTS", a travel advertisement for "RYLOTH", a Hutt pin-up which shows a voluptuous Hutt and the text "TO GARY" - "XOXO" (also seen outside the tavern), a Rodian pin-up - "TO JASON" - XOXO" (also seen outside the tavern; the poster is seen from far away and barely readable in this episode; the poster is shown in close-up in another cantina in "Pursuit of Peace"), an advertisement for "SODA", a red poster of a female Twi'lek which reads "SHOW GIRLS" (also seen on a screen on the Hover Taxi that Plo Koon and Ahsoka Tano uses), a poster shows a landscape similar to the Gungan sacred place on Naboo and a young woman wearing an outfit similar to the action attires worn by Padmé Amidala and her handmaidens in The Phantom Menace (it says "A BOO"), "SPACEWORLD", "STARGAZER" and "CORUSCANT NIGHTS". Other posters, too far away to read, can also be glimpsed. When the Jedi leave the cantina, graffiti over the entrance says "CUTE HONEY". Additional graffiti only produces gibberish. The "Sulcascy!" advertisement, previously seen on a billboard in "Duchess of Mandalore", is shown on a poster by the entrance and can also be glimpsed at the customs office and inside the cantina. Containers on Florrum are labeled "CARGO". When the Jedi are approaching the planet, Hondo Ohnaka's computer says "MOSHI" (the rest of the text on the screen is too small to read).
In Clone Cadets, a computer in the Tipoca City Military Complex shows the text "BEGIN APPLICATION", "CONDITION MODIFICATION", "SELECTION" and "AUTOMATE", as well as "SET 1", "SET 2" and "SET 3".
In "Supply Lines", a Jedi Temple display says "SAFETY ZONE" and "OUTTER RIM" [sic]. The display on a clone trooper's macrobinoculars reads "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT".
In "Corruption", the label on the bottles says "ARDEES BEVERAGE"[33] and "AB" (Aurek and Besh). The bottom shows Aurebesh symbols and numbers, which carries no actual meaning.
In "The Academy", during Ahsoka Tano's lectures, the board contains a lot of Aurebesh text. The left side shows a jagged and steep graph with the legend "THIS GRAPH REPRESENTS CORRUPTION RELATED CRIMES WITHIN MANDALORE".[34] The text in the middle reads:
During Ahsoka's first lecture, Soniee’s datapad says "CORRUPTION". When Soniee and her fellow students break into the Government warehouse, the datapad says "SEARCHING FOR CODE", "WAREHOUSE FLOORPLAN" [sic] and "ENTRARE"[35] (Italian for "enter"[35]), as well as various combinations of letters and numbers that don't mean anything. Inside the warehouse, various containers are labeled "CARGO".
In "Assassin", one of the criminal profiles on Ahsoka's computer "BANNAMU" . "LAST SEEN ON RODIA" . "WANTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY".[36] Another profile says, "MAYSANO" . "LAST SEEN ON RODIA" . "WANTED FOR MURDER".[36] Another one says "AURRA SING" . "LAST SEEN ON CORUSCANT" . "WANTED FOR MURDER" . "APPROACH WITH EXTREME CAUTION". The touch-screen keyboard uses all the Aurebesh symbols from A (Aurek) to Z (Zerek) in alphabetical order.
In "Evil Plans": Among the signs seen on Coruscant are "ONIGHT", "UGBS" (mirror-inverted), "SODA", "TELCOM", "ROSS", "HOT" (part of the Ross storefront), "NOODLE BAR", "VIDEO STORE", "PHONE" and "[obscured]ARET" (probably "CABARET, from "Lightsaber Lost"). The words "DROIDS SPA" can be seen over the entrance to the Coruscant droid spa, and signage outside the spa promises
The signs inside promise "RECHARGE", "REPOLISH", "REPAIR", "REFIT".[37] Advertisements for the Sulcasky! exhibition can be seen on buildings near the spa. BeforeR2-D2 is welcomed at the droid spa - sign promises "recharge", "repolish", "repair", "refit" When R2-D2 enters the spa, a sign on the building next door says "[obscured]SAGE". When the speeder brings C-3PO to Cad Bane, Bane is standing in front of a billboard which says "VIDEO STORE". Parts of another Aurebesh sign can be glimpsed near him. During 3PO's and R2's torture sessions in Bane's Coruscant base", the red screen says "LOADING". When the protocol droid is tortured, the screen says "C-3PO" : "HUMANCYBORG RELATIONS", and also displays a jumble of symbols and numbers that don't mean anything. When his astromech partner is going through the ordeal, the screen shows Aurebesh gibberish, most of which is upside-down. When IG-86 is searching for R2, two posters promising "CORUSCANT NIGHTS" are seen. When IG-86 remarks that Bane will not be pleased if they come back empty handed, a building sign says "MASSAGE". A red sign is glimpsed on a nearby building; it says "[obscured]EN" (the same design can be seen outside the Trueping'scantina in the Season 4 episode "Deception", where it says "OPEN").
IN "Heroes on Both Sides", when Grievous is communicating with Dooku, a green screen says "TEMOEDA TUREMETER 86,784", "[obscured]OPHSI [obscured]TITLES", "[obscured]ATOR", "[obscured]ATION", "CHRYSTOPSIS[sic] STATION", "MOON M-1", "SIZE: 6,584", "WEIGHT: 2,457", "ALHERO: 021", "2ND QUADRANT" and "[obscured]US CHECK". Various other display screen in the episode show tiny letters and are unreadable. Each of Grievous's demolition droids have "CSD[38]-23" stenciled on their domes (CSD for "Coruscant Sanitation Department"[38]). When the demolition droids are infiltrating Coruscant, a sign with green letters says "SECURED HAS SEC[obscured] FROM[obscured] SEPAR[obscured, probably SEPARATIST] CONT[obscured, presumed to be CONTROL]". The Star Tours advertisement from "Lightsaber Lost" can also be seen. When the clone trooper checks the droids, the hologram says "GENERATOR LEVEL 5000". During the power failure, the Sulcasky! advertisement from Season 2 can be seen as a poster on a wall. Another poster also shows Aurebesh symbols. The word "PHONE" runs vertically down a wall. "ROSS", "HOT" (on the Ross storefront) and "CABARET" appear on various signs. Other signs can also be glimpsed.
In "Pursuit of Peace", when Mas Amedda receives the message from Count Dooku, Amedda's computer screen says "! URGENT". When discussing the suggested loan from the InterGalactic Banking Clan, Bail Organa's datapad says "INTERESTS COMPOUNDED DAILY". Among the signage seen on Coruscant are "TONIGHT", "CABARET" and "HOT" (part of the Ross storefront). Parts of other signs are also seen. A building that Padmé Amidala zooms by in her speeder bike reads "ROSS". She also drives by advertisements for Star Tours and Sulcascy! from Season 2. Various posters previously seen in Tiggs Leo's tavern in "Lethal Trackdown" are re-used in an unidentified cantina for this episode: The Rodian pin-up - ("TO JASON" - XOXO"), "SPACEWORLD", the Dasha Sigweed poster (only "DA" and "SI" can be seen), the poster of an unidentified Bith musician (seen next to the Bith band), the unidentified female singer (seen in the close-up of a Twi'lek dancer - only the legs of the singer are visible in this episode, and some of the symbols are obscured), a mirror-inverted version of the Max Rebo poster (only the symbols "EBO" and "NIGHTS" (as in "Coruscant Nights") are visible to the viewer). A billboard on Coruscant says "RYLOTH, and another one says "KASHYK[sic] WELCOMES YOU". The Coruscant police speeder lists their jurisdition ("CORUSCANT POLICE SECTOR 417")[39] as well as an emergency contact number[39] ("POLICE 9-1-1"[39]). When Robonino and Chata Hyoki escape, a building says "SALE" (part of the façade of the Ross shops).
In "The Citadel", the Bad Kitty appears in the Jedi Temple Hangar. A screen inside the Citadel commando central says "THE CITADEL EXTERIOR". The text on the video monitor says "ANOMALY DETECTED ON CORRIDOR 13" . "SECURITY CAMERA BLOCK 4: ON" . "CELL 12 MALFUNCTION" . "REACTORS 3 AND 6 MALFUNCTION". On Anakin’s binoculars, the word "RANGE" is seen in the display. The little screen on the torture droid shows Aurebesh symbols (gibberish).
In "Counterattack", a group of containers are labeled "CARGO". The text on the screen inside the commando central, from "The Citadel", reappears.
In "Wookiee Hunt", the Ubrikkian floating fortress has white Aurebesh letters on the floor; the middle part is obscured, but first part is "CLEA", while the last letters are "SEA". The nose art of the Halo shows a tooka doll with a knife, with Aurebesh reading "NICE PLAYING WITH YA". The HCT-2001 Dragonboat-class freighter is used by the Trandoshan hunters.
In "Water War", display on Kit Fisto's electrobinoculars says "RANGE". The episode’s Trivia Gallery on StarWars.com shows that the nose art on Kit’s gunship features a cartoon of a bomb with Kit's face on it, with "SERVICE WITH A SMILE" written in Aurebesh underneath.[41] However, the Aurebesh cannot be seen in the final episode, due to distance and camera angles.
In "Mercy Mission", when R2-D2's plugs into the communication station, the display reads "SECTION 9". Among R2’s data are "RUN PROGRAM", "RUN PLAN", various combinations of "CT" plus various numbers, "PROGRESS", "SET 1", "SET 2", "SET 3", "ENS", "SECTION A", "CURRENT STATUS", "PERCENTAGE COMPLETE", "SECTION", "SECTION LOADING", "SCAN", "SCAN COMPLETE", "LOADING", "STATION A", "SECTION B", "SECTION 1", "SECTION 2", "SECTION 3", "SECTION 4", "SECTION 5", "SECTION 6", "SECTION 7", "SECTION 8", plus various text that only produces gibberish, and various Aurebesh symbols and combinations of letters and numbers. Plo's Bros take part in the humanitarian relief expedition.
In "The General", CaptainRex's and Pong Krell's macrobinoculars read "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT".
In "Carnage of Krell", clone trooperKix has a tattoo on his head that says "A GOOD DROID IS A DEAD ONE". Captain Rex's macrobinoculars display says "REGULAR MODE", "INFRARED MODE", "MIN", "MAX", "ZOOM IN" and "ZOOM OUT".
In "Kidnapped", the "TECORA" has its name written on its hull in Aurebesh type, [42] as well as the words "DELTA S-9"[42] and "S9" on the trailing edge of its wings. The display on the bomb attached to the back of the tactical droid reads "GHOOOE". The AT-RTs with the letter Trill (T) are used on Kiros. The word "DANGER" is written over the door where the blixus is kept. A wall in the cockpit of the TECORA says "3KT" in mirror-inverted Aurebesh.
In "Escape from Kadavo", the Tecora is used to land at the Kadavo slave processing facility. The Aurebesh found on some of the display screens in facility reads "APPROACH VECTOR LOCKED", "HOLDING CELL BAY DOOR ACTIVATED[43], "FACILITY OPERATIONS ARE RUNNING AT MAXIMUM CAPACITY",[43] and "TRANSPORT OF SLAVES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED WITHOUT PROPER IDENTIFICATION"[43]. The episode’s Trivia Gallery on StarWars.com shows a display screen that says "ZYGERRIAN NEWS" : "CELEBRATION IN THE EAST PROVINCE" . "15-DAY REVOLT ENDS THREE-DECADE RULE. FULL STORY TONIGHT AT 89:76 PTM" . "TODAY’S WEATHER" : "RAIN WILL MOVE INTO THE CITY. THUNDER STORMS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHLANDS. In "Deception", when Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano are taking a walk through the nightly streets of Coruscant, a sign says "NOODLES BAR". A round sign in the background shows Aurebesh symbols, but it is too far away to be read. There is an advertisement for "SODA", and the Star Tours advertisement from "Lightsaber Lost" can be glimpsed. A red neon sign outside Trueping's says "OPEN". A blue billboard outside the club (at the top of the picture) says "KL FJK GD" and "FAD FA FED". The bottom of a couple of Aurebesh signs can be glimpsed outside the club. When the unidentified Anacondanbartender asks, "What's your pleasure?", a bottle of "PHATTRO" is on the counter (also seen when the Anakin and Ahsoka arrive). Graffiti by the bar says "GOOBER". (More graffiti, gibberish, can be seen in the corridor and the backrooom.) There is a screen above the bar, with Aurebesh text without any actual meaning. A poster advertising the Miss Theelin beauty contest. During Obi-Wan’s transformation, the computer screens read "FULL BODY CHECK" . "SCAN 1" and "SCAN" . "HEAD" . "MATCH" . "HARDEEN". There are several posters in the hallway leading to the backroom in the cantina, and the backroom itself. There is one for DJ RANGTHANG",[44] and one for for Sy Snootles (also seen in the bar room) which says "THE SY SNOOTLES SHOW" . "IN PERSON" . "SY SNOOTLES". "SOMEWHERE ON CORUSCANT". "FRI - SAT 12 - 4" . "SOLD OUT"."[45] (Note: The first sentence is shown in the episode guide, but is not visible in the final episode.) A travel poster says "VISIT PANTORA",[45] and another poster says "KIROS". There is a poster for a beauty pageant: According to the episode’s Trivia Gallery on StarWars.com, it says "MISS THEELIN LIVE" . "A PURPLE PEOPLE PARTY PRODUCTION" . "COMING TO A GALAXY NEAR YOU THIS WINTER"[45]; However, only the word "THEELIN" is readable in the final episode. The episode's Trivia Gallery shows an advertisement for "THE BEST DRINK IN TOWN" : "TRUEPING'S"[46]; However, the advertisement is missing from the actual episode (although it does appear in later episodes). Signage on Coruscant read "ROSS", "SALE" and "HOT" - the latter two are part of the Ross façade. The prisoners in the Republic Judiciary Central Detention Center have the word "PRISONER" printed on their uniforms. A posters in a prison cell reads "VISIT MALASTARE", and the Hutt pin-up from "Lethal Trackdown" ("TO GARY" - "XOXO") and the pin-up of a female Rodian from "Lethal Trackdown" and "Pursuit of Peace" (too far away to be read in this episode) are also seen. A fourth poster shows Aurebesh symbols, but is too far away. The display on the lock mechanism for the incineration facility says "LOCKED". When Obi-Wan opens it, the display reads "UNLOCKED". The display inside the room say "CREMATION CHAMBER" and "PRIMARY LOCK ENGAGED". The prisoners escape in a Coruscant police speeder, first seen in "Pursuit of Peace".
In "Friends and Enemies", "Rako Hardeen's" (Obi-Wan's), Moralo Eval's and Cad Bane's prison fatigues have the word "PRISONER" printed on the arm. When Obi-Wan is buying a starship on Nal Hutta, the Tecora is parked in the background. Walls inside the ship that Obi-Wan buys are emblazoned with the text "TK9" and "K3" (the latter is mirror-inverted). When Obi-Wan contacts the Jedi, a screen in the Jedi Temple says "SAFETY ZONE". Signage at the Orondia fueling depot includes: "BOUNTY EMPORIUM" (the episode’s Trivia Gallery on StarWars.com reveals that the complete text is "BOUNTY EMPORIUM" : "ALWAYS OPEN" : "BOUNTY NEVER SLEEPS"), and "SALES" (the Trivia Gallery reveals that the complete text is ""SPEEDER SALES"). The Trivia Gallery also shows additional signage that is unreadable in the final episode: ""EAT AT KOE'S", "SECURITY SERVICES", "CRAFT REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE", "REPAIR RACK DROID SERVICES", "ORONDIA TOURS", "METEOR CAFE", and "THE PILOT'S LOUNGE" - "LIVE BAND EVERY NIGHT".[47]
In "The Box", when Count Dooku questions Moralo Eval’s ability to lead, a screen in the control room of the Box says "CAM 1". The datafile on Rako Hardeen shows Aurebesh text that is too small to read.
In "Crisis on Naboo" a hangar in Theed has several containers labeled "CARGO". One of them also reads "MAX WEIGHT 3000". Obi-Wan's data device says "DOOR FUNCTION OVERIDE" [sic]. A firework display resembles the Star Wars opening crawl. A picture for the episode’s Trivia Gallery on StarWars.com shows that the display has yellow Aurebesh writing that says: "847 YEARS AGO NABOO JOINED THE REPUBLIC".[48] However, this cannot be seen in the final episode. The side of the shield generator says "CAUTION".
In "Bounty", a door in the subtram station on Quarzite says "BAY 3". When Asajj Ventress returns after delivering the bounty, a starship says "HOUND'S TOOTH".
In "Brothers", a container in the Stobar spaceport says "CARGO". Outside the Plop Dribble's diner, there are advertisements for "SECURITY SERVICES", "OUTER RIM SUPPLY CO", "REPAIR RA[obscured] " and "CRAFT REPAIT [sic] AND MAINTENANCE" (the last two words are written in very small letters, and are barely visible). The speeders used by the spaceport police droids say "POLICE"; additional text on the speeders is too small to read. The door of the diner says "OPEN". Inside, there's a bottle of "PHATTRO" on the counter. The signage inside the diner reads "PLOB DRIBBLE'S GALAXY DINER" and "DP.[49]Loubo has a tattoo on his right arm of a double-heart that says "MOM" in Aurebesh; the right shoulder of his uniform says "PLOB DRIBBLE'S"; the left shoulder says "LOUBO" and his hat says "PD".[50] "PD" is also printed on Sassi's uniform. The Turtle Tanker that Savage Opress commandeers has "DMC" written on the hull. The walls in the starship "STAY CLEAR OF DOOR", "DOOR SEAL [sic] WHEN TAKEOFF" and "OMG CMR". By the airlock, there are several posters developed for Trueping's bar in "Deception", but they are too far away to be read in this episode. A Kiros poster, from the same episode, is in the cockpit, but only the first two symbols ("KI") are seen.
In "Revenge", the Turtle Tanker is used to travel to Dathomir and Raydonia. Inside the ship, by the airlock, there are several Aurebesh posters - advertisements for Miss Theelin, DJ Rang Thang, Trueping’s and Sy Snootles - created for Trueping's for the episode "Deception". A computer screen inside the ship reads "AUTO PILOT ENGAGING ", and the computer meny shows Aurebesh symbols. Bounties listed in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina are: "NIM MINDBEND" - "WANTED" : "DEAD" for "KIDNAPPING, THEFT AND MURDER" - "REWARD: 120,000"; "OMAR TOGGS - "WANTED" : "DEAD" or "ALIVE" for "RACKETEERING AND EXTORTION" - "REWARD: 75,000"; "ZUG TASSIK" - "WANTED" : "DEAD" or "ALIVE" for "MASS MURDER" - "REWARD: 800,000"; "SAVAGE OPRESS" - "WANTED" for "FLEEING THE SCENE OF A CRIME" - "REWARD: 550,000" (even though the bounty hunters say Savage is worth a million credits).[51] The bounties also list "LAST KNOWN LOCATION". When Obi-Wan and Asajj Ventress flee the scene in the Turtle Tanker’s cockpit, the computer screen says "UNLOCKED".
In "Revival", in the background of Hondo Ohnaka's camp is a huge piece of superstructure with the Aurebesh words "HONDO'S SALVAGE" - "PRICES SLASHED" stenciled on it,[52] and a container says "CARGO". The hull of the Zygerrian slave ship says "AT-9". After the crash, inscription on a chest says "1543FSSAPO".
In "A Test of Strength", the holoprojector menu says "ENGINE WORK AREW" [sic]; below that the Wesk (W) symbol is seen, with the number 82 underneath; two buttons are marked with an Aurek (A), and another button is marked with a Besh (B).
In "Secret Weapons", a screen in the Jedi Temple communication center reads "ENGAGE" and "QUADRANT H001". Another screen says "RENDEZVOUS 887". When Meebur Gascon is walking on the table, a panel says "SYNCH" [spelled like that]. The hazard labels on R2-D2's enhanced booster rockets read: "WARNING": "SUPERCHARGER BOOST MUST NOT EXCEED 150 PERCENT" and "KEEP BACK."[53] The hazard label on U9-C4's laser cutter advises "EXTREME CAUTION" - "DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO LASER BEAM".[54] The interior hatch says "CAUTION".[54] A green screen in the Separatist dreadnought says "CHRYSTOPSIS" [sic], "MOON M-1", "SIZE", "WEIGHT", "ALHERO" and "QUADRANT". CommanderGascon's data display reads ""MINUS 50 M", "TRACKING" and "DATA PROCESSING". When Gascon has U9-C4 cause a temporary power outage, the mechanism C4 plugs into carries the warning "DANGER". The control pad for the decoding module vault's artificial gravity says "LEVEL", and also shows various combinations of letters and numbers.
In "Missing in Action", Borkus's diner has a sign that reads "OWER SLIDERS"[55] – according to the episode's Trivia Gallery, it would have read "POWER SLIDERS", but the disrepair rampant throughout Pons Ora means the "P" (Peth) has fallen off.[55] Other signage in Pons Ora is:

The most common signs in the mining town are "CLOSED"[55] (on a building next to the diner), "OUT OF BUSINESS"[55] (inside the diner and on the streets), "FINAL SALE"[55] (on a building next to the diner) and "FOR LEASE"[55] (on a window when Gregor goes Ewok Jerky and Nuna Gumbo on the menu in the Power Sliders dinerhome). The entrance to Power Sliders says "OPEN", and the yellow menu behind the counter says "POWER SLIDERS" and promises "EWOK JERKY", "NUNA GUMBO", "EOOPIE [sic] STEW" and "FAMBAA DELIGHT". In town, there are posters based on classic LucasArtsadventure games, but done with a Star Wars twist:[55] "KOWAKIAN MONKEY ISLAND"[55] (refers to the Monkey Island games, and based on the cover art for for the fourth game in the series, Escape from Monkey Island), "FULL THROTTLE"[55] - with a swoop bike (refers to the computer adventure game Full Throttle) (seen when WAC-47 talks about oil baths), and "DAY OF THE SARLACC"[55] (refers to Day of the Tentacle) (seen after Garson is thrown out of the diner). The dilapidated buildings in Pons Ora sport several hand-posted bills:[55]

In the alley behind the diner, there are several Aurebesh posters – advertisements for DJ Rangthang, Miss Theelin, Trueping's and Sy Snootles – previously seen in Season 4. The door to Gregor’s apartment shows that he lives in number "6C". A poster inside the apartment says "KIROS". R2’s data on Gregor reads "STATUS" : "MIA" : "BATTLE OF SERRISH" (according to the Trivia Gallery, this is the battle of Sarrish from the comic Routine Valor,[55] even though it is spelled differently) and "GREGOR-39 55-739" . "SGT 1ST CLASS" (even though Gascon refers to Gregor as Captain) . "[numbers] ATTACK BATTALION" . "FOXTROT GROUP" . "HEIGHT [numbers]" ."WEIGHT [numbers]" . "G-OR". Various containers in the Separatistmining facility are marked with the word "CARGO". The Nu-class attack shuttle has an extra cargo pod, stenciled with the serial number "PT019-U", slung beneath the ship's main hull.[55]
In "The Lawless", the display on the speeder used by Korkie Kryze and his fellow cadets includes "GPS", "NAVIGATION", "FUEL", "EQUALIZED", "HEADING" and every Aurebesh symbol from D (Dorn) to K (Krill). During the chase, the speeder enters "HANGAR 1". When Obi-Wan Kenobi is viewing Satine Kryze's message, the hologram says "SERVICE" (mirror-inverted, as the hologram is seen from behind) and also contains the letter A (Aurek). The Twilight sports a cartoonish illustration of Anakin Skywalker as a boy podracer, with Aurebesh text that says "WIZARD!!!"[56] When Obi-Wan attempts to escape with Satine, various containers at the landing platform are labeled "CARGO".
In "Sabotage", the Lucky Lekku is the gunship that carries CaptainRex on Cato Neimoidia.[57]Russo-ISC's datapad says "JACKAR BOWMANI" . "LOCATION" : "JEDI TEMPLE" . "J-OP". The hologram reads "JACKAR BOWMANI" . "LOCATION" : "JEDI TEMPLE" . "SEX" : "MALE" . "HEIGHT" : "6,6 [???]FT" . "WEIGHT" : 1[blurred]" . "J-OP". The Temple protesters' signs say "THE JEDI ARE CORRUPT" (the word "CORRUPT" also runs vertically on each side of the sign) and "STOP CLONING VIOLENCE!".[58] In the Jedi Temple Hangar, Ahsoka Tano's scanner says "DETECT", "SCANNING" and "R" (Resh). A data device in Jackar Bowmani's apartment says "CORP[obscured]". The Miss Theelin advertisement can be seen outside the door when the Jedi leave the apartment. Walls on the street outside carry Aurebesh graffiti. Various street signs read "PAWP" (the last symbol (Peth) is upside down). Another sign says "3K3". A "VIDEO STORE" sign can be seen when Letta Turmond is running.
In "The Jedi Who Knew Too Much", a screen in the Jedi Temple communication center says "COURSE COL-HB69". When Ahsoka Tano is scanned at the Republic military base, the screen reads "PERSONNEL SCANNER", "COMLINK" and "WEAPON". The security monitors at cell block 121811 show "FEED 5" (Wat Tambor), "FEED 6" (Whorm Loathsom), "FEED 7" (Letta Turmond) and "FEED 8" (Poggle the Lesser). When Anakin Skywalker attempts to see Ahsoka, a screen reads "BLOCK EIGHT-NIN[obscured] and "ALL LEVELS CLEAR". The monument at the center of the Republic military base plaza says "BATTLT TT GEONOSIS" (some of the Ts (Trills) are sideways or upside-down), in mirror-inverted Aurebesh, and is decorated with Aurebesh symbols. (According to the episode guide, it is supposed to read "BATTLE OF GEONOSIS", and lists the names of the clone troopers that fell in action in the first battle of the Clone Wars.[59]) In the pipe system, several walls are marked with the letter Yirt (V), and various doors say "LOCK".
In "To Catch a Jedi", the wanted poster for Ahsoka Tano reads: "WARRANT FOR ARREST" : "AHSOKA TANO, JEDI, ARMED AND DANGEROUS". The helmets and backs of the uniforms of the Coruscant underworld police are decorated with the symbols "PD". A travel poster for Pantora, previously seen at Trueping's in "Deception", can be seen on board the Coruscant train, but parts of it is ripped off, so that only the "VISI" and "AN" in "VISIT PANTORA" remains. There's a also a "DJ RANGTHANG" poster. A third poster can also be seen, with parts of it ripped off and therefore unreadable. A screen inside the train reads "TRANSPORT LINE A" : "LOOP D" : "INBOUND" . "TRANSPORT LINE B" : "INBOUND" . "CARGO LINE H" : "DELAYED" . "TRANSPORT LINE G" : "LOOP R" : "CLOSED". The hovertrain map lists the following in-joke stops:
The words "TURBO LFIT" [sic] are seen by the entrance to the turbolifts (easier to spot when Ahsoka exits the lift tube). After she enters the elevator, a wall says "B1". A display inside the lift tube reads "FLOOR 127654". The Republic police gunships are emblazoned with the text "POLICE" and "45074-L".[61] When Asajj Ventress leads Ahsoka away, a yellow sign says "RANRLO" (or possibly "RANDLO"; one of the symbols is partially obscured), and red signs say "CVOY" and "CVOY PAWN". When Anakin Skywalker spots his Padawan with Ventress, a wall reveals their location as "TERMINAL 24". Outside of Ventress' home, a yellow sign says "HOTEL" (also seen by the warehouse) and a blue one says "VACANCY". A round sign with an illustration on it says "[obscured]ANCE". When Ahsoka contacts Barriss Offee via a public holographic system, two posters previously seen in Tiggs Leo's tavern in "Lethal Trackdown" can be seen by the "phone booth"; one of the unidentified female singer (parts of the poster have been ripped off, so that some of the letters and the singer's head are missing), and one of the unidentified Bith musician (seen through the eye of the probe droid and on a Hover Taxi advertisement). While Ahsoka and Ventress are fighting the clone troopers, an upside-down sign reads "VIDEO STORE". Another sign says "KIYM". The crates of nano-droids are labeled "BIOHAZARD".
In "The Wrong Jedi", during Ahsoka's trial in the Chamber of Judgment, Yoda's data screen reads "VERDICT" and displays the letter Vev (V). Yellow signs in Ventress' neighborhood say "HOTEL" and a blue sign says "VACANCY". A red and purple signs says "KIYM". A "concert solo" poster can be seen on the "phone booth" used by Ahsoka in the previous episode, and on a wall when Anakin is talking to Ventress. When Anakin and Ventress are fighting, a run-down version of the "concert every night" poster can be seen behind them (some of the letters are faded or ripped off). Next to it, the "Kashyk[sic] welcomes you" poster from "Pursuit of Peace" can be seen; most of it is missing, and all that remains of the caption is "HYK" and "YOU". Parts of an upside down "VIDEO STORE" sign can be glimpsed when Anakin is interrogating Ventress. When Ventress and Anakin are talking, an advertisement for Phattro is seen on a wall (two of the symbols are faded). Next to it, a poster which shows a large tree says "[obscured]LTECT [obscured]RUSCANT[obscured]EEN PARK". As Anakin leaves Ventress, Aurebesh symbols can be glimpsed on yellow sign.
In Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, when on the level where players must gather spare pieces from the crashed merchant ship for their own, a door in their own ship reads as: "Room", another door reads "SHIP GATE", a computer screen reads "DANGER", another computer screen says "TARGET SHIP DANGER",

ONLY THE BEST!!!", and "OUTPOST A COMMUNICATIONS OUTPOST --SECTOR FIVE--" also, a wanted poster can be seen reading "WANTED: OBI-WAN KENOBI. ACCUSED OF TREASON, RESISTING ARREST, AND UNLAWFUL USE OF THE FORCE. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS TO CONTACT EMPEROR PALPATINE UNDER PENALTY OF DEATH."
In Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Imperial solider turned mercenary Kyle Katarn enters the three-letter communication code for Rogue Squadron in Aurebesh into the Doomgiver communication system. The code spells out "THX", an allusion to George Lucas's first filmTHX 1138 (1971), as well as to his sound-system company THX.
On the menu of the PC version of Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy Aurebesh is seen scrolling in the background, and when players move the mouse over the choices they turn to Roman.
In the mission briefings of Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, Aurebesh text accompanies the depicted elements on screen. Although translatable, they do not equate to meaningful phrases. Some players have tried to read them and find amusing messages.
In Star Wars Galaxies, all text that appears as part of the game world—on screens, signs, displays, plaques, posters, and labels—is written in Aurebesh and makes sense when transliterated to English.
In Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Aurebesh appears in the menu, as well as several signs throughout the game. A sign in the level "Entertainment District" reads "I'm selling these fine leather jackets..." an inside joke previously featured in other Lucasarts games.
In the beginning of the Star Wars: Empire at War scenarios, where the player chooses sides, an Aurebesh text advertising Petroglyph occupies most of the screen.
In the Rhen Var citadel level from Star Wars: Battlefront, there is a secret message written on the wall, next to the stairs at the observatory. It says "Rhen Var Is Cold." However, the "E" and the "N" in "Rhen" is switched with each other. It is also on a high part of the outside of the observatory.
Some objects in Star Wars: DroidWorks (for example, a water tank) are labeled in Aurebesh.
When the website for the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Roleplaying Game first went online, it featured a couple of lines of Aurebesh as decoration. One of these lines could be translated to "**** YOU", and was removed as soon as Wizards was notified of this.
In the Revenge of the Sith video game, the movie titles on the movies menu are in Aurebesh, then they change to Roman letters as players scroll over them.
In Star Wars: Demolition, an energy absorption bonus is in the form of a floating yellow Aurek; a deflector shield bonus in the form of a floating bluish Besh; and a cloaking shield bonus in the form of a floating hot pink Krill.
In Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance on the second Dathomir level, in the area with the two pillars, the piller on the left says WEST in Aurebesh, and the one on the right says EAST (but the letters on each are the wrong way round, like a mirror image).
Also in Star Wars: TIE Fighter and Star Wars: X-wing vs. TIE Fighter, the phrase "Nick was Here" can be found on the side of the PROBE/1. Capital letters are denoted by enlarged symbols.
In the Original Trilogy Edition of Monopoly, the banknotes are written in Aurebesh. The translation cipher, identical to the one on this page, is provided on the back of the rules booklet.
On the website for the upcoming MMORPG "Star Wars: The Old Republic", each class is presented with a subtitle in Aurebesh. The translate as follows: Trooper - Freedom's Shield, Smuggler - Galactic Profiteer, Jedi Knight - Savior of the Galaxy, Jedi Consular - Republic Unifier, Bounty Hunter - Fearsome Trackers, Sith Warrior - The Harbinger of Doom, Imperial Agent - Master of Deception, Sith Inquisitor - Dark Council Aspirant,also on the concept art for each character it reads "SCHEMATICS."
In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II for Xbox, PS3, and PC Windows, the Aurek symbol can be seen flashing on signs on Kamino. Yet the symbol is depicted backwards. Also when you are on Cato Neimoidia, the password to enter one of the rooms is Besh six times.
In Star Wars: The Old Republic Aurebesh symbols can be seen cycling on screens. Most of the Aurebesh text makes sense if transliterated into English.
At the Metellos Exchange in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 36: Prophet Motive, Part 1, there are many holograms containing Aurebesh text (with many of them seen from behind, showing a mirror image). Several holograms seen contain the words "HI BID" (as well as the credit symbol, two unknown symbols and the letter Trill (T)), and several others say "SOLD". On page 2, one hologram contains the text "IVAX NEBULA" and "ANOAT" (seen as a mirror image from behind), another (with the letters "squeezed" together, making it hard to read) says "SECTOR IVAX TIBANNA" and "ANOAT", and yet another has the text "GAS ”TIBNNA" [sic]. On page 3, a blue hologram says, "GAS ”SEFANO", and a building has a neon sign with "HOTEL" written in Aurebesh. On page 5, two holograms contain the words "GAS", "SEFANO", "HI BID", a credit sign, three unknown symbols and the letter Trill (T), "SECTOR" and "””TUWXO". A hologram on page 8 says "BID". On the last page, the lower right hand corner says "MILLER" . "ATYEH" [sic] . "DAZO".
In Star Wars: Republic: Prelude to Rebellion, the bottom of the building where the Cerean Elders' Council meets, carries the Aurebesh letter Grek (G). Ephant Mon walks into a room containing various crates. One is marked with the letter Dorn (D), another with Aurek (A) and a third one carries the letter Krill (K). The guards escorting Ki-Adi-Mundi, after Maj-Odo-Nomor kills a man with Ki's lightsaber, have the letter Peth (P) on their chest. When Ki goes to see Ydde, the sign on the building he enters says "BAR". Ydde's note to Ki reads "EFONT [sic] MON". The bands sealing off Berth #289 contain the text "POLICE LINE". When the merc droid is chasing Ki, the droid's viewscreen displays the word "TARGET".
In The Eyes of Revolution, when CountDooku is watching GeneralGrievous' ship through the macrobinoculars, the screen displays the word "ACTIV[panel ends]". When the device inside the ship detonates, the screen in front of Grievous contains the word "LOW". After the explosion, a screen outside the bacta tank contains the words "AM I DEAD" (which is what Grievous asks Dooku).
In the non-canonical comic Fett Club, among the signage seen on the streets are "SPEARMINT RHINO", "SOFT ROCT CAFE" [spelled like that] and "EAT AT JOE'S". Editor Randy Stradley can be seen holding a piece of paper which says "WILL EDIT FOR FOOD". The wall behind two characters says "WHAT R U LOOKI[obscured]". A sign inside a building reads "DEADMEN TELL NO SW TALES".
In Star Wars: Republic 49: Sacrifice, during Khaleen Hentz's encounter with Grakko, Aurebesh letters (some of them facing the wrong way) can be seen on the buttons next to an elevator. There are glimpses of Aurebesh graffiti, "JD" and "ZAO L", on the walls. A neon sign on The Wheel contains the text "TOSHE STATI[page ends]" and below that the word "KIFFEX". After Quinlan Vos delivers the data disc, Aurebesh graffiti on a column says "[panel begins]JEDI".
In the webcomicThe Clone Wars: Shadowed, the text on Slick's BARC speeder says "SEND'EM TO MUSTAFAR"; the text in his macrobinoculars reads "BUSINESS CENTER: 2, 03 KILOMETERS" and "DISTANCE BETWEEN EACH: 00, 05". If the symbols are read vertically, the sign says "je" and "di", ergo "Jedi"; together, the two signs form the words "Dark Jedi", foreshadowing Quinlan's fate. When Quinlan runs off to Aruk the Hutt's cantina, an orange neon sign says "EAT AT ARUK".
In Jedi: Aayla Secura, Aayla Secura’s identity says "[obscured]R: CONFIRMED:", "T[obscured]EETA:" and "ID: TUULAA DONEETA" . "FATHER: KAS [sic] DONEETA:" "RYLOTH VENT[panel ends]" . "PRINCIPA [sic] IND[obscured; according to the datapad, the word is "INDUSTRY"] TRADE". Tholme's identity contains the text: "[obscured] CONFIRMED", "MILES CROF[obscured]" and "ID: MILES CROFT" . Several screens and monitors displaying a map of the galaxy. The text reads: "THE GALAXY", "SIGNAL PROBLEMS" : "VECTOR", "BAIT AND SWITCH", "POTENTIAL SUB-PRIME LENDING JONES", "REPUBLIC FIGHTER STRESS ANALYSIS" and "UKIAN FINANCIAL STATUS" : "'PRIME FOR TAKEOVER'".
In Star Wars: Republic 65: Show of Force, Part 1, the letters Q (Qek) and (Vev) can be glimpsed on the outside of the building on New Holstice when Aayla Secura and Tholme leave; again, this appears to be an in-joke from the artist, as they are discussing Aayla's master, Quinlan Vos, whose initials are QV. When Mika is yelling over the comm system on The Rig, "ALIOU" can be seen written in yellow letters on a wall. A sign inside the cantina reads "GIZER". "HOMUHR" appears in Aurebesh on the Aqualish's chest.
In Star Wars: Republic 72: Trackdown, Part 1, the name "VIENTO" is printed in Aurebesh on the side of the carbonite slab containing Senator Viento's body. When Aayla is flirting with Gort, a round neon sign behind them says "GYZ", or possibly "WYZ" (the first letter is obscured by Gort).
In Star Wars: Agent of the Empire 6: Hard Targets, Part 1, the display on Jahan Cross' weapon reads "TARGET SELECTED" . "EOEO-" . "SHMOO" . "EO" . "DISTANCE" : YARDS". A wall in the anteroom to Armand Isard's office says "CAUTION"; additional text only produces gibberish, as does Isard's datapad. Various screens in his office shows Aurebesh text, which is too small to read.
In Star Wars: Agent of the Empire 8: Hard Targets, Part 3, outside The Spike, the walls say "SPIK[obscured]" and "[obscured]TION". Jahan Cross' speeder says "SERENNO INDUSTRIAL [the last word is unreadable]". Inside the prison, the signs say "POWER COLLECTOR" (barely visible), "CAUTION" (the first letter is obscured) and "DANGER" - "KEEP OUT". Another sign, seen when Cross enters the locker room, says "WARNING" (barely visible). The prisoner have the letter Peth (P) on their uniforms. The data screens in the control room show Aurebesh symbols, but the text is gibberish. Outside the prison med center, a column says "DANGER" - "KEEP OUT", and the sign above the entrance says "[obscured]OSPITAL". When Cross is communicating with Armand Isard, a wall says "HANGAR".
In Lady Luck, a man is wearing a suit which has the text "CHISE" printed on the shoulder, and "NOVASH 08515" on the back. Text next to the entrance of the Ecclessis Figg Room says "MXMMCHK", and the panels by the door say "AP". Inside the chamber, the name "FIGG" is written in black letters by the door. A man in the room is wearing a jacket emblazoned with the word "MOM" on the back and shoulder. Yellow text on the wall reads "STA VE". The title for the starship says "COBRA" and "F" (Forn). When Radnor reveals an Idiot's Array, and when Lando says, "Sabacc", the cards are marked with Aurebesh symbols.
In the non-canonical comic Best Birthday Ever, Bib Fortuna's landspeeder is emblazoned with yellow text that says "KOERV". Among the signs and posters seen inside the Interstellar Parcel Service are "IN A HURRY? NO WORRY!", "IPS "MY KIND OF SCUM"" (with IPS written in High Galactic Alphabet), "HERE" (part of a sign over the place where the queue is) and "IPS CROSSING THE PAR CLIPS" (with IPS written in High Galactic Alphabet). During the birthday party, a pink banner says "[image begins]IRTHDAY [obscured]ABBA" (presumably, the whole text reads "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JABBA").
In Star Wars: Legacy 3: Broken, Part 3, a computer screen says "MARASIAH FEL" (partially obscured) and "WANTED FOR CRIMES AGAINST THE EMPIRE (with the word "for" and some of the letters obscured or outside the panel).
On the cover of Star Wars: Legacy 21: Indomitable, Part 2, a hologram behind Gar Stazi contains Aurebesh text, some of which is partially obscured by the Legacy title, and is seen clearly only on the original cover art, and (most of which) on the back of the Star Wars: Legacy: Alliance trade paperback. The following is not obscured: "E-187 IN RANGE", "N-575 OUT OF RANGE" and "E-1287 OUT OF RANGE". The following is partially obscured on the cover, but can be seen on the back of the trade paperback: "2G-4682-8 STANDING BY" (only "standing by" can be seen on the trade paperback), "E-1287 STORM", "GR-2957", "G-18549 MOVING TO INCEPT", "I DONT [sic] KNOW WHAT THIS GUY IS DOING", "E-57 RR1", "G-18823" and "E-3467 IN RANG[obscured by Stazi's head]". In the adventure Crisis in The DarkStryder Campaign, an illustration in chapter two shows the word "EXIT" in both Aurebesh and High Galactic alphabet on the wall behind Breslin Drake. Also, in "The Rogues Gallery", the symbol of the bounty hunter gang Qulok's Fist is a fist with a Qek (Q) on.
The Imperial morale officer pictured in Heroes & Rogues is standing in front of a poster with Aurebesh text. The words "ENLIST", "SERVICE" and "IMPERIAL" can be glimpsed. Also, a speeder racer has "FT" written on his chest, and his helmet says "BILL". In the picture of Prengahl Kreen presenting Jakke Clamont with a new weapon, the billboards on the wall are marked as "A3", "A4" and "A5".
In The Kathol Rift, a picture of a man being treated by a 2-1Bmedical droid, shows the word "INFIRMARY" on the wall (the last two letters are obscured by a bacta tank). Also, in a picture of three inmates behind bars, the Aurebesh text on the wall outside reveals their location as "CELL 1".
The access card in Instant Adventures has "CLASS TWO ACCESS" written in both High Galactic alphabet and Aurebesh; the same thing goes for the headline of the datafile on Nawnam the Hutt ("WANTED ALIVE"), as well as most of the text on the overhead view for Operation: Shadowstrike. The side of the map shows the Aurebesh words "AUTO-UPDATE ON RANGE 257 ORBIT J32/Q". A large Senth (S) can be seen printed in the upper left corner.
In Wretched Hives of Scum & Villainy, storefront signage on the "WAVE WORKS" contains the name of the store, as well as the words "GIFT SZHOP" [sic]. The door behind the counter says "PRIVATE". "THE HYPER DIVE", "FATHOMS" and "SEABED LODGE" (the latter is partially obscured) can all be seen in Wildwater City. A desk below is for "RENTALS". The illustration of Rebel agents sneaking through Wildwater City shows "BEE[obscured]" written on a locker. Holograms spell out the name of "BANTHA TRAXX" at the club's entrance. Jik'Tal has the letter Senth (S) (for "security") on his chest. "PIT" is written above a doorway in The Pits. In Kuda's Compound, the sign by the speeder bike says "ONLY 100 KM., NEARLY FACTORY MADE". A booth in Talandro's Trading Post says "MORYIS". There's a sign in the background, with Aurebesh letters, but too many are obscured to read what it says. On the illustration for "Secrets of the Station" in chapter eight, a wall is emblazoned with "DONO8ENTY".
In the Mos Eisley Adventure Set, Aurebesh text on the illustration on the cover of the adventure book says"TARGET LOCK" (partially obscured by the book title) and "TREVAS", a reference to the artist, Chris Trevas.
In The Far Orbit Project, Dhas Fenoep Vedij's signature for the Ship's Articles document is in Aurebesh. A computer image of a Sullustan has numbers and Aurebesh symbols underneath. In a picture from the StarForge Station market, a stall is called "LUCKY'S (credit symbol)", and another stall is called "AEOK[image ends]". An Imperial HoloVision newscast shows headlines with both High Galactic alphabet and Aurebesh letters.
In Hero's Guide, a picture of a ZabrakBlack SunVigo contains the Aurebesh text "STAR WARS RPG" and "BLACK SUN VIGO". A HoloNet screen capture says "LIVE FROM GEONOSIS" . "CLEAR SKIES EVERYWHERE" . "ALL BETS ARE OFF". Additional text says "CTPA", "LISS" and "CALI".
In the Galactic Campaign Guide, there's an illustration of a bruised and battered Rodian in his cockpit. The screen on his right contains the Aurebesh text: "PERSONAL LOG: I FLEW TO CORUSCANT TODAY AND GOT MYSELF ROYALLY BEATEN UP. I WAS SITTING IN A SPORTS BAR WHEN THESE TWO THUGS WITH THREE EYES MADE A RUDE COMMENT ABOUT RODIAN THEATRE. NEEDLESS TO SAY; I LET THEM HAVE IT." The screen on his left says: "[image begins]L LOG: THREE [image begins]KEN, A BRUISED [image begins]ND A LACERATION [image begins]MY LEFT ARM. [image begins]FRIEND TOLD ME [image begins]O PUT A KAADU[image begins]TEAK ON MY FACE [image begins]EDUCE THE SWELLING. WHAT A DA[obscured]". A smaller version of the illustration can be found in Starships of the Galaxy, but most of the text is too small to read here.
In Scum and Villainy, in the illustration "A Shootout on StarForge Station", one of the crates is labeled "RALLEY [sic] SUPPLIES", whereas another one is labeled "ACTION FIGURES", and a third one contains "TOYS". In the illustration for "finding the starworm", one crate is marked with the letter Besh (B), another one contains "DROID PARTS", and a third one is labeled "ASB". The sign on the Woodoo Dunes says "WOODOO DUNES", and on the side of the building, it says "EAT WOOKIE" [sic].
The map for "Encounter: The Overpass" in Galaxy at War contains the Aurebesh text "STAY RIGHT".
In Galaxy of Intrigue, the illustration for "Adventure #1: Shooting Trouble" shows two slicers slicing into a computer mainframe. Two screens show various Aurebesh letters which only produce gibberish. In "Mini-Adventure #7: Double Down" and "Mini-Adventure #8: Extracting Aleece", a map says "CLEAR//".
In the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beginner Game, in the Rulebook, a Humanmale has "CNU" printed on his enviro-suit, and the letter Aurek (A) tattooed on his face. "F6" is inscribed on the armor of a Trandoshan who is being throttled by a Wookiee. A cantina sign reads "NO BLASTERS". The Character Folios have the names and occupations of the characters printed in both Aurebesh and High Galactic alphabet on the front, and an emblem on the back of each folio says "MOS SHUUTA GRILLAE" [sic]. An information sheet on the web-adventure The Long Arm of the Hutt shows many neon signs in a city, but the text is gibberish.
On the cover for the online adventure The Long Arm of the Hutt, a purple and red neon sign says "UNLIM[obscured] TASTES", and another reads "EAT DAILY SPECIALS". The Nern (N) symbol can be glimpsed, on a sign, over the shoulder of Teemo the Hutt.

In Star Wars Blueprints: The Ultimate Collection, in the weapons blueprints, the BlasTechE-11 blaster rifle illustration reads “IMPERIAL ISSUE” and “DISPLAY”. The range screen of Han Solo's modified Blastech DL-44 displays “RANGE”, “MODE” and “09 METERS”. The caption for Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber says “ELEGANT WEAPON”. The Blastech RT-97C blueprint has “IMPERIAL ISSUE” written above it, and the thermal scanner data reads “RANGE 37,2 OC”, “17,8 OC” and “15,6 OC”. The sniper scope display says “MAG 100X” and “RANGE 152,4 M”. The passive infrared scope says, “SCANNING” and “RANGE 14,325 M”. The humorous caption for the Merr-Sonn Munitions, IncClass-A thermal detonator reads “BADA BOOM”. The power display for the Death Star’s tractor beam reactor coupling says, “POWER”, “INOPERATIVE” and “TRACTOR BEAM 120 SECN 60”. The blueprint for the Millennium Falcon contains the Aurebesh text “ARMAMENT” and “REGISTRATION”. In the blueprints for Darth Vader's armor: The macro-images images of midi-chlorians show the text “MICRO”, “MACRO” and “92000X”. The health monitor shows the letters Trill (T) and Cresh (C). The environmental readout (which shows Darth Vader interrogating Captain Antilles) says “HOSTILE INTERROGATION”, “VOICE STRESS”, “DOD” and “DECEPTION NOMINAL”.
In The Essential Atlas, the picture "Two hyperspace scouts chart the stars" (actually Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace) shows the word "UNKNOWN" written in Aurebesh in the hologram. A picture of an Arkanian, a Herglic and a Devaronian shows Aurebesh signs in the background; one says "[image begins]HRIS TREVAS" and another says "CHRIS" (a reference to the artist, Chris Trevas). In "Star types and the main sequence", Aurebesh symbols are used to represent the sample stars' galactic positions. The map of the galaxy uses the letter Nern (N) for galactic north, Wesk (W) for galatic west, Esk (E) for galatic east and Senth (S) for galatic south. Many other maps also show the letter Nern. The map of the Hapes Cluster is emblazoned with the words "HAPES CONSORTIUM".
In Star Wars Blueprints: Rebel Edition, the blueprints for the T-65 X-wing contains the words "ATTACK POSITION", "FUSIAL THRUST" and "CARBANTI". The blueprints for the BTL Y-wing say "LONG RANGE" and "FORWARD GUNS". The blueprints for the Rebel blockade runner contain the text "DEFLECTOR", ATMOSPHERE", "HYPERDRIVE" and "POWER". The blueprints for the rebel weapons show "DEFENDER", "SPECIAL FORCES", "ALLIANCE ISSUE" and "BOWCASTER. The long range scope for the blaster rifle says, "374,6 M", the power display of Chewbacca’s bowcaster says "RANGE", the composite display says "137,2 M" and "250 MAX", and the range displays says "POWER". The security video feed of the captured Wampas inside Echo Base says "REC". The blueprint of Echo Base shows the letter Nern (N) (for north).
In Star Wars: Millennium Falcon: A 3-D Owner's Guide, the caption for the the blaster cannon shows "BLASTECH AX-108" printed in both Aurebesh and High Galactic Standard. The sensor display of data from the area around the vessel displays the words "LARGE", "HOT" and "WARNING". The shield protection display contains the words "FORE" and "AFT", as well as the letter Xesh (X). The Aurebesh caption for the bacta tank says "ZALTIN". The data for the life support systems contains the words "TEMP", "NOM", "O2" and "H2O", as well as the letters Herf (H), Grek (G), Wesk (W), Aurek (A), Besh (B), Cresh (C) and Dorn (D).
In Star Wars Art: Visions, the painting Droids by David Tutwiler shows “DINER” written in Aurebesh on a building, whereas a sign next to it “THE JABBA HOT[the rest is unreadable]". C-3PO and R2-D2 are looking at a poster which says “NEXT TIME TAKE THE TRAIN” and a sign above them says, “STATION CHAPEL" "FEED THE SOUL”. Anthony J. Waichiulis’s painting Young Leia shows a letter written in Aurebesh, with a photo of a young Leia beside it. The letter translates "SHE CONTINUES TO SPEAK TO THE DREAMS THAT HAUNT HER. ALONE AND SCARED, SURROUNDED BY OCEANS OF SAND. I FEAR THAT THESE DREAMS MAY". Many of the rest of the words are obscured by the photo, but the artist’s statement says that the rest of the letter reads "ONE DAY LEAD TO QUESTIONS – QUESTIONS THAT WE MAY ONE DAY HAVE TO ANSWER. … SHE REMAINS SAFE IN OUR CHARGE."
In How To Speak Wookiee: A Manual for Inter-Galactic Communication, there are several humorous illustrations with Aurebesh in them. The hull of a starship says "WOOKIE[sic] SPACEWAYS". A holoprojector in a meeting says "KASHYYYK BUILDING CORP", and there's a framed photography of "OUR FOUNDER". A counter in a mall is for "BERU'S BLUE MILK", and a sign reads "R2-MART". Another sign reads "HELMETS"; the rest of the sign is partially obscured and can't be read.
In Darth Vader: A 3-D Reconstruction Log, EmperorPalpatine is seen through the optical filters of Darth Vader's armor. The data display (which highlights information about atmospheric composition, nearby bio-signatures, and more) says, "MASTER PALPATINE", "EMPAL SU RECON" and "ATMO STERILE". The picture of Vader's leg armor contains the Aurebesh text "MAX TOLERANCE EXCEEDED" and "JOINT FAIL". The chart next to it contains various numbers and the words "MAX" and "MIN". The data for Vader's neural sensors contains the words "TIME" and "STRENGTH".
In The Art and Making of Star Wars: The Old Republic, various Coruscant signs display Aurebesh text. One says, "COMING SOON...", another says "CRED DIFFE", "SPECIAL ID REQUIRED CHECK AVAILABILITY APR CRED DIF" (also printed on the first sign, but here parts of the words are obscured) and "DYNOVIBE". A third sign says, "[first letter obscured]RITECKINDUSTRIES - LEADS" and "[obscured]ECK NOW AND SAVE [the next word is obscured] TRITECK NOW AND S[obscured]. One of the signets found on Nar Shaddaa says “WELCOME TO NAR SHADDA”.
In Book of Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side, the text on the inside of the Sith case says "NIGHTSISTER TALISMAN" and "LIGHTSABER CRYSTAL". In Darth Malgus' war journal, the Aurebesh labels for the Sith army's plan of attack on Ord Radama say "MINES", "GUNS" and "SITH MOVEMENT". In Darth Plagueis' scientific journal, the illustration labels on a diagram for aperion, anima and pneuma shows the mirror-inverted Aurebesh words "PNEOOMAE", "APERIEON" and "ANIMAE". (According to author Daniel Wallace, the labels are printed backward as a nod to Leonardo da Vinci’s habit of mirror writing[62]). A diagram shows a nanosyringe and two groups of cells, labeled A (Aurek) and B (Besh). Group A reads "RESIST IMPOSITION" and group B "OVERRIDDEN!"; the words are written in Aurebesh mirror writing. A diagram shows data readouts for three different test subjects, labeled A, B, and C (Cresh). The Aurebesh mirror writing reads "SUBJECT A". The illustration of a clone host and the original body says "ALL LIFE IS MADE BY THE DEATH OF OTHERS". The removable feature diagram detailing Palpatine’s political strategies during the Clone Wars contains the text "DISSOLUTION", "IMPERIAL NATIONALIZATION", "COVERT SUPPORT", "IMPERIAL NATIONALIZATION" (again) and "IMPERIAL RESTRUCTURING, LOYALTY PURGES". In Darth Sidious' manifesto, the picture of a HoloNet screen says "HOLONET" . "SYNDICATES" . "CORPORATIONS" . "DEATH STAR" . "TIE FIGHTERS" . "TROOPERS". The Imperial propaganda poster says "ONE RULER" , "ONE EMPIRE".
In the 2008 film Fanboys the word "fanboys" is written in mirrored Aurebesh on the doors of the van.
In the television series Code Lyoko, Jeremie's computer uses Aurebesh characters for icons.
In an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation entitled A Space Oddity, Aurebesh characters are seen in a computer translator used for an in-show television series called "Astro Quest" (A parody of Star Trek).
In the 2003 Sci-Fi miniseries "Children of Dune," the Aurebesh characters can be seen on the display screen of a set of binoculars held by the Fedaykin warriors when they scout the Fremen invasion force approaching.
In the eleventh season of the long-running children's television show Power Rangers, Power Rangers: Ninja Storm, Aurebesh characters are seen on Lothor's spaceship's self-destruct countdown in the episode "Storm Before the Calm, Part II." Additionally, in the thirteenth season of the show, Power Rangers: SPD, lines of Aurebesh text are seen in Sophie's "Fight Mode" heads-up-display in "Wired, Part II."
The Star Wars: The Clone Wars home page on cartoonnetwork.com has a section that reads "REPUBLIC HOLONET," right below the English translation.
In the 2013 episode of Doctor Who, "Nightmare in Silver", during the exterior shot of Porridge's ship, writing in Aurebesh is visible on the hull, paralleling the presence of an unidentified human empire in this episode. It may also a reference to Warwick Davis, who plays Porridge, who is revealed to be the Emperor.
The Aurebesh-like writing that appears in the original trilogy is totally random and it is believed that the filmmakers did not intend to write any meaningful text with it. The assignment of the letters to Roman equivalents was first developed by Stephen Crane at West End Games in the Star Wars Miniatures Battles Companion (1994), for use with the Star Wars Miniatures Battles game and Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The Aurebesh was later expanded to include punctuation marks in the Star Wars Miniatures Battles supplement, Imperial Entanglements (1996).
This original Aurebesh is occasionally used in electronic and board games such as Star Wars Monopoly. Since the letters in the movies are random, the assignment of the West End Games-values to the inscriptions of the movies produces nonsensical results–-most words seen in the movies appear to consist solely of consonants, and some letters appear on screen that are absent from the West End Games Aurebesh.
In the prequel trilogy and in Special Edition releases of the original trilogy, the inscriptions use the West End Games mapping, and can be transcribed to English.
Many of the PhoenicianAlphabet letter names were probably used for inspiration (or just used) for the Aurebesh letter names. E.g. Beth, Daleth, etc. provided one style of consonants while letters like Resh provided whole letter names. Some symbols also bear resemblance to the Phoenician symbols i.e. Gimel, Daledh, Waw and Lamedh.
The word "Aurebesh" was developed in a manner similar to the word Alphabet, which is derived from the first two letters of the Phoenician/Greek alphabet (Alpha and Beta).
In-universe sources show Arabic numbers; however, one of the fan-made fonts (discussed below) presents a numerical system based on dots and lines.
It should be noted that in many instances, the sounds "ch", "sh", and "th" are written using Aurebesh exactly as they would be in English (cresh-herf, senth-herf, and trill-herf, respectively), despite that separate letters exist in Aurebesh for those sounds (cherek, shen, and thesh, respectively). (To see an example of this, examine the text in the picture in the Games section.) While it is possible that these instances represent legitimate in-universe variations of the sound-values for the letters in question, it is more likely that they represent errors on the part of the real-world transliterators (who are understandably more used to employing digraphs than employing single letters to write these sounds).
Note: none of the available fonts use reverse glyphs for capital letters.
Aurabesh (TrueType) Created by Mike E. Webb on February 10, 1996. As only the alphabet had been described, Webb based his punctuation on work by Eric Kristiansen (aka Jackill), and invented glyphs for other common symbols. He also made the lowercase letters small versions of the capitals.
Aurebesh (Mac TrueType/PostScript and PC TrueType) Created by David Occhino on September 8, 1997. Occhino updated the punctuation to match West End Games, removed the non-canon symbols (except for the Arabic numerals), and made the lower case letters the same size as the capitals. He also changed the assignments of the digraphs, so it is not backwards compatible with Webb's font.
newAurabesh (TrueType) Created by Peter Schuster on June 21, 1998. Schuster also updated the punctuation to match West End Games, removed the non-canon symbols, and made the lower case letters the same size as the capitals. He changed the numbers to match Technical Readouts, and changed the assignments of the digraphs, so it is not backwards compatible with either Webb's or Occhino's fonts.
Aurek-Besh (TrueType, standard, narrow, and hand-written) Created by Davide Canavero (aka Boba Fonts) on March 7, 1999. Canavero made small improvements to the rendering of many of the symbols, enlarged the numbers for clarity, and added more logical assignments for the digraphs while also keeping Schuster's assignments. As a result, Aurek-Besh is backwards compatible with newAurabesh.
