1-H Imperial-class repulsortank

The Imperial-class repulsortank was the successor to the S-1 FireHawke and heavily championed by the elite armor regiment, the Hell's Hammers.

Three main versions of the tank were produced, each being designated either heavy, medium, or light.

The 1-H was the main version and the most widely produced of the three. It was armed with a heavy laser cannon and a medium blaster cannon, similar to the FireHawke, and had two additional cannons flanking the vehicle.

Out of the initial production run of 1,500 tanks, 1,420 were assigned to the first Death Star^[1], while the rest were given to the Hell's Hammers. After the station's destruction, production of the tank continued at a steady, yet reduced pace.

During the occupation of Edan, shortly after the battle for Yavin, the 1-H was taken into the field where one of its uses was as a convoy escort.

Due to reorganization and retraining of the unit, the Hell's Hammers were not present at the Battle of Hoth. They would later maintain that if they had been present, their 1-H tanks would have been more successful against the defending Rebels than General Veers's AT-ATs.

In addition to armored combat, Imperial-class tanks could be fitted with a scoop and used to clear obstacles. This was done in Mos Eisley, where buildings had to be torn down to make room for a new Imperial garrison.
