11-17 mining droids were independent mole miners. They were made by Slayn & Korpil and Roche Hive Mechanical Apparatus Design and Construction Activity for Those Who Need the Hive's Machines. 11-17s were equipped with a large plasma drill, a telescoping circular saw and a blow torch. To protect it against rockslides, the 11-17 had durasteel armor plating. Such droids were used on Hosk Station.
