This droid was tortured under the supervision of Jabba the Hutt's droid supervisor EV-9D9.
The droid screamed in excruciating pain as a droid torture rack slowly pulled its arms off.

Note that this droid is rather similar to 2-1B in shape and name and often gets the fanon name 2-1A. This name has never been confirmed. The droid is sometimes confused with the "interpreter droid" that Jabba "became angry with" and was replaced by C-3PO. In the game Star Wars: Battlefront II, he can be seen alone in the torture chamber with a leg almost torn off.
