The 2/181st was the second starfighter squadron of the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing of the Imperial Navy. The squadron piloted TIE/ln starfighters and TIE/In interceptors. The squadron was commanded by Major Soontir Fel around the time of the Battle of Yavin, who led the 2/181st through the Second Battle of Ord Biniir. Following the Battle of Derra IV in 3 ABY, command of the 2/181st was given to Commander Turr Phennir, who continued to lead the squadron until the Battle of Brentaal IV in 6 ABY.
