The 2nd Wing Guard was a cloud car squadron assigned to the Bespin Wing Guard—a highly streamlined security force composed of commando pilots hired by Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian to help protect Cloud City.

History

In 1 ABY, Cloud City's Baron Administrator, Dominic Raynor, lost his administrative office to Lando Calrissian in a game of Sabacc. Lando subsequently reorganized the existing airborne security force, 1st Wing Guard—which was steeped in the corruption fostered by Raynor[1]—into the 2nd Wing Guard, made up of commando pilots hired by Calrissian. The best pilots from the 2nd Wing Guard were reassigned to Wing Guard Elite,[4] a special airborne unit formed out of the 1st and 2nd Wing Guard squadrons.[4][2]
When Darth Vader brought an occupation force to Cloud City, the 2nd Wing Guard became aligned with the Rebellion when Lobot and Lando orchestrated resistance against Imperial forces and Calrissian departed with members of the Rebel Alliance.[3][2]
DescriptionEdit
Based in Cloud City Security Tower on Bespin's Cloud City,[1] the 2nd Wing Guard's cloud cars were painted orange and offered minimal protection to the pilots who flew them.[2]
Behind the scenesEdit
The 2nd Wing Guard was represented by a miniature in the Scum & Villainy expansion of the Star Wars PocketModel TCG.[2]
