44-ND was a probe droid in the service of the reconstituted Sith Empire during the Galactic War with the Galactic Republic.[1]
Admiral Hestun used 44-ND to contact Imperial operatives via the droid's in-built hologram, recruiting an Imperial strike force to disable three Republic anti-aircraft emplacements on Corellia, as well as using the tags provided by 44-ND to mark Imperial aerial-bombardment targets on the world by hiding beacons within designated Republic encampments. Targets included a Jedi encampment, that of the Green Jedi, and a Republic Comm Station.[1]
