500 Republica was the most prestigious and exclusive residential tower located in the Senate District of Galactic City on the planet Coruscant. It was here that Senator Sheev Palpatine maintained an expansive apartment suite in the building's upper levels that he had wired with discreet security and surveillance equipment.^[1] Queen Padmé Amidala of Naboo stayed in 500 Republica as Palpatine's guest during the Invasion of Naboo.^[2] 500 Republica offered private turbolifts and security armaments to those rich and famous people who resided within. 500 Republica also had the design of steps traveling upwards, and held fifty-three skydocks to accommodate large air taxis to private starships.^[3]
