Affiliation

The 5th Sector Army, also known as Shadow Hand Command, was a Sector Army of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars charged with the defense of Sector 5. Headquartered in the Odik system, the 5th Sector Army was one the GAR's six Reserve Sector Armies, and it was initially assigned to garrison the Deep Core. However, much of the Sector Army was transferred to other, more active regions to support other Galactic Republic forces early in the war, and the 5th maintained only a skeleton force within the Deep Core.[1]

After the Declaration of a New Order in 19 BBY, the 5th Sector Army became a Sector Army of the Imperial Military and was restored to full strength. In the new Galactic Empire, the 5th was placed under the command of the new Grand Moff of Sector 5, Gann,[1] who would remain in power until at least 18 ABY.[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

The 5th Sector Army was first mentioned in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a 2012 reference guide, which gave overviews of the twenty Sector Armies.[1]
