The 88th Attack Squadron was a BTL Y-wing starfighter squadron in the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Under the command of the Mon Calamari Pashna Genko, the 88th was based out of Polis Massa Research Base while the Galactic Empire was conducting tests of the experimental TIE/ph phantom starfighter in the surrounding region. Along with the T-65 X-wing starfighters of the 94th Fighter/Attack Squadron, the 88th was tasked with eliminating the Imperial threat. The squadron lost at least six Y-wings, but the Imperials were eventually forced to abandon the tests and withdraw from the area.
