The Hydrospeare Corporation A-Q6 Waveskimmer was an aquatic vehicle developed by Hydrospeare's Design Team Beta under a contract for the Imperial Army. Based on a modified and strengthened walker frame with a powerful repulsor thruster, it aimed to create a "Wave Walker".[1]
Around 2 ABY, the test pilots wrote excellent reports about the prototype, and Rebel Intelligence came to believe that this would led to new Imperial contracts with Hydrospeare. However, eight years later, the Empire was still using the A-Q5 Waveskimmer instead of the A-Q6.[1]
