The AAC-1 hovertank, or Anti-Aircraft Combat Tank-1, was a military landspeeder that was used by the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.[1]

CharacteristicsEdit

The AAC-1 was fast, maneuverable, and equipped with reinforced hull plating. Rebels found the vehicle to be effective when used in lightning strikes against military targets. The only weak point on the vehicle was found to be the black coolers on the sides of the tank.

The AAC-1 was armed with heavy anti-artillery weapons, but was also able to destroy enemy infantry equally well. Its primary weapons were forward-facing laser cannons and particle beam cannons, which were capable of destroying an enemy tank with a small number of shots. A pair of rapid-fire missile launchers were mounted on the top of the vehicle and were efficient at demolishing both ground and airborne targets. The Pilot used the laser cannons and beam cannons whilst the gunner fired the missile launchers.

HistoryEdit

An Imperial slicer gaining access to an AAC-1.

After a bad night at the sabacc tables, a SoroSuub Corporation designer sold his design concepts to the Rebel Alliance and Royal Naboo Security Forces along with the Rebel combat speeder to pay off his debts.[1]

A variant, the AAC-2 hovertank, was used by Rebel commanders and had stronger hull plating. It was used in battles such as the Skirmishes of Yavin 4.

Behind the scenesEdit

This vehicle replaces the Rebel combat speeder from Star Wars: Battlefront, and shares the exact same backstory. If taken at face value, that would either mean that one designer lost two designs during a gambling spree, or that two different SoroSuub designs were lost due to multiple reckless employees.

The design of this tank was used as inspiration to design the pirate tanks in The Clone Wars TV series.
