The ABC Television Network is one of the major television networks in the United States. Through the Disney–ABC Television Group,[1] it is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company like Lucasfilm Ltd.

Its first brush with Star Wars came in 1977, with the airing of the one hour special The Making of Star Wars. ABC then broadcast the two Ewok telefilms, Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure (1984) and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985), and from 1985 to 1986 it broadcast the animated series Star Wars: Droids and Star Wars: Ewoks. In 2014, ABC hosted a special re-airing of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion. In 2016, the network debuted the first two trailers for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.[2][3]

The American Broadcasting Company should not be confused with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the national broadcaster of Australia. The Australian ABC did broadcast The Star Wars Holiday Special in Australia.
