The AS23 aerial survey droid was a flying droid used for airborne exploring.
The AS23 was triangular and streamlined. It was designed to easily slip through the atmosphere while it performed its duties. It's shape was reminiscent of a wide variety of predators, which often caused the local wildlife to leave it alone during missions. It cost 23,500 credits new.
It had a sophisticated automap sensor package that allowed it to make topographical maps, even in total darkness. Information could be stored in the droid's databanks, or transmitted back to the owner via a comlink.
They could also be employed as aerial spotters for artillery.
