History
Edit
Discovered by the Republic between 5,000 and 3,000 BBY the planet joined the galactic government, remaining under the Galactic Senate's control until at least 3,959 BBY. Located within space controlled by Darth Revan's Sith Empire, the planet would later align with the Brotherhood of Darkness during the New Sith Wars.
About a year after the Battle of Geonosis, Aargonar was the site of a significant battle of the Clone Wars involving Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi and Knights Bultar Swan, Anakin Skywalker and A'Sharad Hett. During the war, Mina Bonteri's husband went to Aargonar to set up a base, but died there during a battle with the Republic's clone troopers.[2]
Falling under Imperial control with the rise of the Galactic Empire, Aargonar's third moon acted as a Rebel Alliance base during the Galactic Civil War, but the Rebels were routed by the Galactic Empire around 0 ABY.
Swept into the Greater Maldrood during the Ssi-ruuvi invasions, it aligned with Grand Admiral Thrawn as he led campaigns against the New Republic. When the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy, Aargonar was besieged in 26 ABY, its people either slaughtered or enslaved by the invaders.
As of 137 ABY, Aargonar was located in the territories controlled by Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire.
Geography
Edit
The terrain was reminiscent of Tatooine for Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, with rock arches and stone spires dotting the once watery-planet. The sarlacc species was possibly a native of Aargonar, with many known to have their habitats on this planet.
