Biography
Edit
Karda commanded the Imperial field operations during the Icarii Campaign, and was responsible for finishing the war by unleashing a biological agent specific to the Icarii which rendered the species extinct. The colonel subsequently oversaw the capture of the Icarii queen Selestrine, discovering her precognitive powers and decapitating her with a sword when she attempted to commit suicide with poison. Eager to profit from the Icarii queen's abilities, Karda developed technology allowing her head to live and kept it in a kneebshide casket.
In revenge for the destruction of her people, Selestrine tricked Karda with her ambiguous predictions, leading to him accidentally killing his superior officer, General Nim. Karda was declared an Enemy of the Empire and the planet to Starstation 12. While on the station, Karda had himself tattooed with the pattern of the Duhma race under the alias of Mixxim and began wearing a dark visor to disguise his missing eye.
Karda fled to the backwater planet Maryx Minor and claimed sanctuary in the hermitage of the Ancient Order of Pessimists. In response to Karda's betrayal, Darth Vader hired Boba Fett to find Karda and, more importantly, the box he would be found carrying. Although Karda believed that he would never be found, the colonel had unwittingly left a trail of clues which lead the bounty hunter straight to Maryx Minor.
As Fett closed in and Selestrine taunted him with her predictions of his impending death, Karda began to lose his mind, spending his days locked in his cell raving at the casket and bullying the pessimists, resulting in the death of a hermit named Mabob and the wounding of another.
In accordance with Selestrine's forecasts, Karda met his end when Fett infiltrated the Pessimists' hermitage and tricked Karda into revealing himself, whereupon Fett fired a grappling hook into his chest, throwing him off balance and into a pit of lava below.
