Abal Karda was Colonel of the Imperial Lightning Battalion and was in command of the campaign against the Icarii on Vestar.

Upon the capture of Selestrine and the discovery of her precognitive powers, Karda accidentally killed his superior officer, General Nim and fled the planet to Starstation 12. While on the station, Karda had himself tattooed with the pattern of the Duhma race under the alias of Mixxim.
In response to Karda's betrayal, Darth Vader hired Boba Fett to find Karda and, more importantly, the box he would be found carrying. Fett tracked Karda all the way to Maryx Minor, where he was hiding among the Ancient Order of Pessimists. Fett infiltrated the Pessimists' hermitage and tricked Karda into revealing himself, whereupon Fett fired a grappling hook into his chest, throwing him off balance and into a pit of lava below.
