Abraxas was a planet in the Mid Rim's Abraxas system known for its rich mineral and ore deposits.

HistoryEdit

Discovered circa 3,000 BBY, Abraxas was not involved in any galactic politicking until it was enveloped in Sith Space during the New Sith Wars. After the fall of the Brotherhood of Darkness, it was left to be mined for its rich minerals and ores. Joining the Galactic Republic, it would stay loyal to the Galactic Senate, even after the rise of the Galactic Empire.^[1] Over time, its transport ships and orbital refineries were abandoned when its mines ran dry, and the debris eventually spread over the entire system, making travel through the area almost impossible.

Abraxas was used as a pirate base soon after the Battle of Endor. With the rise of the New Republic, the fledging government fought them in 4 ABY, taking the world early in its reign. Able to avoid the wars with the Yuuzhan Vong, Abaraxes remained with the Republic.^[1]
