"The ag-producers of the Abrion have lived for decades with few options and limited control of the goods we provide. Now, though, we've found appreciative markets without the restrictive bureaucracy of the Republic"
Abrion Major fell within the New Sith Empire's territory during the New Sith Wars, returning to Galactic Republicspace after the Sith's defeat.[3] Later, as a Republic agriworld, the planet's main responsibilities included supplying food to other Republic-affiliated planets.[1]
In 22 BBY, just before the start of the Clone Wars, a large conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Abrion Major was directly represented in the Galactic Senate by SenatorEsu Rotsino. Due to the planet's ag-producers living for decades with few options and limited control of the goods they provided, Rotsino announced to the Senate that Abrion Major and the entire Abrion sector had decided to secede from the Republic and join the Separatists. As a result, the Senate saw many pleas for aid, since many planets relied on supplies from the sector.[1]
More than a century after the end of the Clone Wars, which saw the defeat of the Confederacy and the fall of the Republic, Abrion Major was within the domain of Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire by 137 ABY.[3]
