The Acclamator II-class assault ship was a warship first used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars.[6]

[edit] Characteristics
Second in the Acclamator series of warships, the design was mainly aimed at planetary bombardment proficiency, converting the Acclamator I-class transport into a fully-fledged warship.[6] As a result of this, ships of this class had 80% less space available for troops.[4] Therefore, most fleets would only include one or two of these for orbital strikes while the majority of a given planetary assault fleet would be made up of the troop carrying class-Is.[source?]
The heavy proton torpedo launchers used were earlier models of those of the later designed Torpedo Spheres. They were designed to breach planetary shields but could also target other capital ships.[4]
[edit] History
Throughout the Clone Wars, Rothana Heavy Engineering produced several different designs based on the Acclamator assault ships,[4] some of which functioned as true warships compared to the original design, which was meant for troop transport.[7] One derived design was the Acclamator II-class.[4]
It was primarily used by the Republic during the end of the Clone Wars,[4] but it also served the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. It was often being used to reinforce the defense of Cardan-class space stations.[8][9] At least two were also used by the New Republic at the Battle of Mindor.
Many years after the Clone Wars and entering the Midway point of the Galactic Civil War, the Empire was in the process of retiring Acclamator II class assualt ships in favor of the new Enforcer Class vessels. However, official Imperial records show that the ships were scrapped, but many ships were saved from this fate by being stolen from the "Graveyards" that housed them. Most of these ships then ended up in the hands of Organised Crime groups which gave them a massive advantage. These ships although outdated could still outclass all civilian vessels, and had enough firepower (when refitted by Crime Syndicates) to take on newer vessels of the same class and sometimes above.
