The aeromagnifier was a device used to produce a magnified image of an object.

The aeromagnifier consisted of a magnifier lens affixed to a repulsor hood that allowed the device to hover in place over the target object. A series of illuminator rings were arrayed around the perimeter of the magnifier.

Shmi Skywalker was given an aeromagnifier by her slave master Watto, who obtained the device in a batch of used goods. Rather than sell it on, Watto gave the aeromagnifier to Shmi, in recognition of her services as a dependable servant. Shmi kept it at her workstation in her hovel in Mos Espa on Tatooine.
