Affide crystals were powerful neurotoxins which appeared to be crystals, used by spies in the event of capture or torture. The crystal was a suicide pill, often hidden within a false tooth in the spy's mouth. In the event of capture or torture, the spy would bite down hard on the false tooth and the affide crystals would dissolve in their mouth, ceasing respiratory functions and killing the individual within seconds, depending on their species and constitution.[1]
