History
Edit
Established sometime after the Jedi Temple was erected in 4,000 BBY by the Four Masters the AgriCorps based themselves in the southwest quarter of the complex to further their studies in conjunction with the Jedi Archives and library.[3]
Containing several hundreds of species of flora from around the galaxy, Grand Master Yoda used the laboratory to teach Padawan Dooku a lesson in telekinesis. Demanding that Dooku lift a pot that was situated in the middle of the path, Dooku concentrated to move the plant with the Force alone. Successfully moving the pot into the grass the apprentice was surprised that the plant sunk into the soft ground. Yoda informed him that the alien soil in the pot was extremely dense and heavy; the lesson taught Dooku that size or weight did not matter to the Force. Dooku would record an account of this event in the Great Holocron and would become required reading for all apprentice over the last two decades of the Galactic Republic.[5]
The laboratories would survive until the end of the Clone Wars when Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, in his alter-ego Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, ordered the Grand Army of the Republic raid the Temple and kill all its occupants. Led by Darth Vader the troopers of the 501st Legion ransacked the labs, leaving them in utter ruin.[2] The Temple would lie vaccant over the next several decades, surviving until the end of the Galactic Civil War. While the Temple was even briefly reinhabited by the New Jedi Order, the ancient edifice would crumble during the Yuuzhan Vong War.[6]
Layout
Edit
Located below the Temple Archives the laboratoies of the AgriCorps served as the headquarters for that specific branch of the Jedi Service Corps. Accessed via horizontal turbolift cars, the large biodomes housed large amounts of plant life for the sole purpose of study and research. Lining the stone paths in the domes were potted plants as well as lawns covered in gardens and trees.[3]
