Akaan was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories' Mandalore sector. Located within the Mandalore system, Akaan occupied the second orbit around the system's star, Mandalore, between the orbits of Nog and Tracyn. A barren world without an atmosphere, Akaan was orbited by two moons. After the Taung forces of Mandalore the First journeyed from Roon to conquer the uninhabited planet that became Mandalore,[1] the newly renamed Mandalorians spread out to conquer the planets of the surrounding system,[2] including Akaan.[1] The world's name came from the Mando'a word akaan, meaning "war".[3]
Behind the scenes
Edit
Akaan was first introduced into Star Wars canon in the 2009 reference book, The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.
