"They're growing healing herbs."
"Nysillin, I believe, one of the most valuable crops in the galaxy."
―Ahsoka Tano and Obi-Wan Kenobi — (audio) Listen (file info)[src]

Akira was a farm established on Felucia to grow and harvest nysillin, a healing herb that was highly valuable.

History

"Nysillin farming is a meager trade. Without our herbs to sell, we will have no money for food, fuel or equipment."
―Casiss — (audio) Listen (file info)[src]

During the Clone Wars, Akira was tended by a group of Felucian farmers led by Casiss. The farmers were threatened by the Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka and his gang who wanted a cut of the profits from the highly valuable plant. To help them protect their livelihood, Casiss was forced to hire a group of four bounty hunters. The hunters included Sugi, a female Zabrak and leader of the group, Embo, a Kyuzo, Seripas, an alien who used a powerful mechanical suit to disguise his small stature, and Rumi Paramita, a female Frenk.[1]

After crash landing on Felucia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano found their way to the farm in search of help and a way off the planet. When told about the farmers' plight, the Jedi were sympathetic, but Kenobi, the ranking Jedi, said they were unable to help as their priority was to return to the Republic and make their report. Skywalker and Tano wanted to stay and help fight the pirates. They came to a compromise and began training the small farmers how to fight and defend themselves. The Jedi were forced to fight, however, when Ohnaka and his gang launched an assault on the farm. With the combined skill of the Jedi and bounty hunters and the determination of the farmers, they were able to repel the marauders and drive them off Felucia, with only minimal damage to the farm.[1]
