The Akk Guards were Kar Vastor's elite Upland Liberation Front warriors during the Summertime War. Vastor personally trained these Korunnai, making them as animalistic as the akk dogs they were bonded to and teaching them how to use their signature weapon, their sharp-cutting vibroshields. In addition to the akk dogs, the Guards were bonded to Vastor and each other. Vastor taught the Guards a deeper understanding and control of pelekotan than most Korunnai had. The Guards and Vastor used instinct, anger, and aggression. In a way, they were a dark mirror of the Jedi, even with their weapons, as observed by Mace Windu.

Of the twelve, three were named Prouk, Thaffal, and Iolu.
