One of the earliest-known shipwrights during the founding years of the Galactic Republic, the Alderaan Royal Engineers were renowned for their design work with large-scale capital warships and smaller starfighters alike.

HistoryEdit

As the centuries and millennia progressed, however, the Royal Engineers began to see their work outpaced by other, more aggressive competitors, leading to a new emphasis upon civilian luxury craft—yachts and spaceliners, along with deep-space stations and the like.

Prior to the planet Alderaan's destruction by the Galactic Empire in 0 BBY, however, it was whispered that the company had secretly become involved in a scheme by the House of Organa to rearm the world's military forces, a move which would have provided badly-needed support to the then-growing Rebel Alliance. After the Death Star completed its deadly work, though, any such secrets went to the grave with their protectors, along with the rest of the planet's population. The company itself ceased operations on Alderaan's destruction.
