A symbolic belt was worn by the women of the royal class of Alderaan. It was normally worn with the Alderaan royal family traditional gown, such as the one that Princess Leia Organa wore.[1] The princess wore the belt during the events surrounding the Battle of Yavin.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
This belt first seen in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and briefly at the end of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back was created by prop builder Arnold Jackson for A New Hope, assisting costume designer John Mollo.[3]
The original belt was made of white leather detailed with aluminum pieces. A second similar belt was created for the final award ceremony scene.[3]
