The Aldereenians were a sentient species of insectoids. They were native to the planet Aldereen,^[1] located in the Inner Rim Territories.^[2] By 8 ABY, they were members of the New Republic, with a consulate on Coruscant. The consulate was located almost 200 kilometers from the Alderaanian consulate. On the day of the Wedding of Han Solo and Leia Organa, their best man, Luke Skywalker was delivered to the Aldereenian consulate by an errant shuttle driver.^[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Aldereenians were created by Dave Wolverton for his novel The Courtship of Princess Leia, published by Bantam Spectra in 1994.
