Found on Tarsa, enormous Alessian terror moths would swarm around any light source. Luke Skywalker used the moths to scare a "city-boy" stormtrooper who was afraid of bugs. He frightened the Imperial relay base guard by turning off every light source in an area but one, which thus caused the moths to swarm.^[1]

The moths presumably originated on Alessia, the moon of Tarsa.^[2]
