History
Edit
Once part of the original Kingdom of Cron, it was absorbed into Xim's empire before it collapsed in 25,096 BBY. With treaties to the Galactic Republic enacted, Algor joined the fledgling government. Siding with the Sith Empire during the Jedi Civil War, the planet would remain out of the Republic until the defeat of the Brotherhood of Darkness.[1]
Remaining in Republic control for the next millennia, the worlds of the former Cron Kingdom seceded and joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. With the rise of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY and the defeat of the CIS, Algor had no choice but to align with the Empire or risk destruction. In order to control the rebellious worlds in the area, the Empire created the Cronese Mandate, which would include the world of Algor.[1] During the Galactic Civil War, a group of Algor pirates rescued the Wookiee Grasheel and taught him starship engineering. He went on to own a share in the Airlock cantina.
During the years after the dissolution of the Empire's control, the Tion Cluster aligned with Warlord Zsinj's empire in the Outer Rim, while the Mandate remained unaligned. Largely untouched during the Yuuzhan Vong War and the Second Galactic Civil War, the planet was ruled by Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire as of 137 ABY.[1]
