Alkhara was an anthropologist on Tatooine who later became a notorious criminal, remembered as the man who incited the centuries-long bloodfeud between the Sand People and the Outlanders.
[edit] Biography
Early in his life, Alkhara was associated with the Tatooine mining colony's Bureau of Ethnology and Socialization, filing reports on the Sand People. It was probably through his researches that he became allied with the natives, but the exact reason why he subsequently turned to banditry is unknown.
In 550 BBY, he established himself as a warlord in the fortress of the B'omarr Monks on the edge of the Dune Sea, the same fortress that would later be owned by Jabba Desilijic Tiure. He made numerous additions, altering the main tower and constructing the dungeons. After using his native allies to eliminate a local police garrison, he massacred the Sand People's camp in the Great Mesra Plateau, and this betrayal precipitated centuries of hatred between the desert tribes and off-world settlers.
Alkhara continued to operate from the B'omarr fortress as a bandit in the palace for 34 years, until Jabba forced him out in 516 BBY. He fled off-world, and his subsequent fate is unknown.
In 0 ABY, there was a group of criminals that referred to themselves as the Alkhara Bandits, though how long they had been operating is unknown
