[edit] Characteristics
The Super Star Destroyer's main reactor bulged out of the vessel's midsection and the vessel appeared to have no ventral hangar-entrance. The engine-arrangement was almost identical to that of the smaller Imperial-class Star Destroyer and the ship was relatively similar in its dimensions, with an exception of a more built up and sleeker superstructure.[4] Given that designated Star Destroyers of the same era could be several kilometers in length, the Allegiance was at least 3.2 km long.[2]

The Allegiance took part in the First Battle of Mon Calamari, six standard years after the Battle of Endor. At Dac, the Allegiance remained in orbit, transmitting images of the destruction being wreaked on the planet below by the World Devastators to Byss for Emperor Palpatine's viewing.[4]
The New Republic Star Destroyer Emancipator took advantage of this by tracking the Allegiance's transmissions while still in hyperspace, allowing it to jump out at close range and catch the Imperial ship with its shields down. Defenseless, the Allegiance had its command tower and surrounding superstructure blown away by a concentrated bombardment from the Emancipator and its fleet. The remaining hulk was left to drift in orbit as the New Republic fleet moved on.[4] As it was being attacked, the Allegiance tried to send a message to the Silencer-7 on the planet below, but it was cut off mid-sentence.[1]

The Allegiance, being a relatively small Super Star Destroyer, is presumed to be a Star Cruiser. Imperial Star Cruisers were described as the smallest of SSDs in Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy and Star Wars: Complete Locations.
