History
Edit
Discovered sometime after the Ruusan Reformation, Alurion was on the border of Separatist space during the Clone Wars but was not contested over by the Galactic Republic. Located in space annexed by the Galactic Empire post-19 BBY, the world was partitioned into Oversector Outer as of 4 ABY when the Imperial Remnant retreated from the ever-growing New Republic.[2] Reorganized into the Pentastar Alignment, the entire sector was taken at a key engagement between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant in 18 ABY. With the New Republic in control, the Remnant was driven out of the sector completely.[4]
During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Raioballo sector lay along the initial invasion path of the Yuuzhan Vong resulting in their conquest of many of the worlds. Cut off from Republic assistance, Alurion sat behind enemy lines until the end of the war. It wasn't until the defeat of the Yuuzhan Vong that the Imperial Remnant reasserted its power in the Raioballo sector and retook Alurion. Remaining within the Empire, Alurion was resistant to Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire as of 137 ABY.[2]
