History
Edit
Discovered during the Great Manifest Period by the Galactic Republic, Amfar quickly grew into a tourist destination due to its warm beaches and tropical oceans. Building an economy off of tourism and vacationers, the planet thrived throughout the history of the Republic. It wasn't until 22 BBY, during the Separatist Crisis, that the planet suffered an economic downturn for the world.[2] HoloNet News interviewed tourists Huberdink Bufflin III and his wife, Milli Bufflin, who had found that they had the beaches and restaurants all to themselves. Resort owner Byll Shotaleve was also interviewed, reporting that his resort beaches were so slow that the native redfish were reclaiming land once populated by tourists. [3]
After the Clone Wars ended, the world joined the Galactic Empire and was able to remain afloat until the New Republic drove the Imperials into the Outer Rim Territories. Joining the Republic, Amfar flourished once more. During the devastating Yuuzhan Vong War, the area of space that Amfar occupied was taken by the invaders. However, after the war, the world did join the Galactic Alliance and later the Empire of Darth Krayt.[2]
