History
Edit
Discovered by the Galactic Republic sometime between 5,000 BBY and the Ruusan Reformation, Amorris, as well as the rest of the sector, was controlled from Drackmar by the Drackmarian race. Isolated from the rest of civilized society, the world was considered a member state of the Sith Empire during the Jedi Civil War, but played no part in its politics or battles. Remaining in Sith-controlled space until the defeat of the Brotherhood of Darkness, the world, along with the rest of the sector, isolated itself while being in Republic-space up until the rise of the Galactic Empire.[2]
During the rise of Emperor Palpatine, the ruling Drackmarians heavily contested Imperial rule, but were eventually pushed out and the sector was redivided into the Quelii Oversector. Around the time of the Battle of Yavin, the planet was occupied by the Cavrilhu Pirates, who built a base on the surface. Operated by Wesselman, the base shut down following the arrest of Wesselman by a New Republic Intelligence officer.[3] Soon after the Battle of Endor, the Oversector's Imperial commander, Admiral Zsinj, seized control as a warlord and made the area the center of his personal empire.[3]
In 9 ABY entrepreneur Lando Calrissian told Niles Ferrier about the abandoned Cavrilhu pirate base, where Ferrier might be able to steal a few Sienar patrol vehicles.[3]
During the Yuuzhan Vong War Amorris was conquered by the invaders and cut off from the New Republic. While it was eventually released from the extra-galactic aliens' control, Amorris' political state was up in the air, at least until 137 ABY when it was deep in the space controlled by Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire.[2]
Behind the scenes
Edit
The PC video game Star Wars: Rebellion places Amorris in the "Quelli sector," a misspelling of the true Quelii sector.
