Ampliquen was a terrestrial planet located in the Outer Rim Territories. Located in the Meridian Sector, it was found in one of the Chorios systems known also as Ampliquen.

HistoryEdit

Originally ruled by the Grissmath Dynasty, Ampliquen was discovered sometime between 5,000 and 3,000 BBY; Ampliquen was one of the few Chorios systems to host an independent civilization. When the system was discovered by the Galactic Republic during the Great Sith War, Ampliquen was absorbed into the Sith Empire of Darth Revan during the Jedi Civil War; though records of its involvement in any battles, if any existed, were lost to history. The world was later freed from Sith control during the New Sith Wars, taken from the Brotherhood of Darkness by the Jedi Order's victorious Army of Light.^[2]

Represented by the sector senator Bufus Ritsomas, the world joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems along with the rest of the sector; Ritsomas fell from power after he was arrested on corruption charges during the Separatist Crisis. While no military involvement is recorded during the Clone Wars, the world was forcibly taken following the rise of the Galactic Empire and the defeat of the Separatist Droid Army.^[2]

During the Galactic Civil War, Governor Zerex oversaw the sector as the Empire moved to subjugate the Rebel Alliance. Following the power vacuum left in the wake of Emperor Palpatine's death, Admiral Treuten Teradoc established the Greater Maldrood as a faction of the Imperial Remnant.^[2] As Teradoc waged war with the New Republic and Warlord Zsinj's Empire, Ampliquen attempted a trust at peace when the world's government signed a treaty with the Republic world Budpock. In a plot to corrupt the treaty, Seti Ashgad of nearby Nam Chorios instigated several pirate attacks in the system to draw Republic forces away from the worlds of Durren and Nam Chorios so that warlord Dzym could take control. The sight of New Republic war vessels caused the treaty to crumble and Ampliquen was once more independent. Later, investigations into the attacks drew connections with the Loronar Corporation, a thorn in the side of the Republic's attempt to gain support amongst the Outer Rim.^[3]

After the war with the Empire ended, the world remained independent, and later suffered for it as the Yuuzhan Vong War erupted across the galaxy, plunging Ampliquen into chaos as it was cut off from the rest of civilization. Its relation to the Galactic Alliance is unknown, but it was taken into the Empire of Darth Krayt as of 137 ABY.^[2]

The planet Ampliquen was created for the novel Planet of Twilight, published in 1997. It was later given coordinates in The Essential Atlas.
