[edit] Characteristics
The starfighter was painted gray and yellow, like his later Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, and was armed with four laser cannons and an unknown complement of missiles. His droid, R2-D2, could fit in a socket located just fore of the cockpit.[1]
[edit] History
At some point in time after the destruction of the Azure Angel on Yavin 4, Anakin Skywalker began using this Delta-7B Aethersprite.[1]
Anakin flew alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi's Delta-7B in the Battle of Christophsis.
Later, Anakin again flew the fighter alongside Obi-Wan's, as they led Ghost Squadron during the Battle of Nexus Ortai. However, the Republic withdrew when, after both sides sustained heavy casualties, the CIS brought reinforcements out of hyperspace.
During the Battle of Bothawui, the interceptor was severely damaged and R2-D2 was missing, believed to be destroyed. Artoo, however, was salvaged by the Trandoshan captain of the Vulture's Claw, Gha Nachkt. Nachkt discovered the military secrets inside the astromech, and planned to sell him to the Separatists.
The fighter was later recovered and piloted by Anakin with a new astromech droid, R3-S6. Anakin used the ship during the mission to uncover the location of the Separatist listening post, and during the ensuing raid on Skytop Station, recovered Artoo as the station was breaking apart in its destruction. Before his rescue, Artoo defeated R3-S6 in a droid duel, after discovering Arthree was a spy for General Grievous. Anakin then took his ship from the Twilight and went to recover Artoo on the outer platform.
Later, Anakin intentionally damaged the ship and used it, along with the Twilight and a hyperdrive ring, as a ploy to get aboard Count Dooku's frigate to capture Dooku. However, his mission proved unsuccessful, and Obi-Wan donned a spacesuit and went after him.
During the Battle of Ryloth, Anakin piloted his starfighter along with Ahsoka and her starfighter. Together they fought Hyena Droid Bombers during the conflict.
