A form of armor with flat-topped helmet and lamellar warskirt was used by the early Sith. At the time of the Cold War, it was considered an antique.

Characteristics
Edit
It consisted of a segmented torso armor shaped like a humanoid rib cage. Square, rigid-looking pauldrons covered the shoulders, the armpits and part of the back. The head was protected by a flat-topped, visorless war helmet with a large, heart-shaped opening. A protective skirt of blade-shaped strips was worn around the waist.[1]
At the time of the Cold War, many of those ancient suits of armor were still on display in the tombs of the Valley of the Dark Lords on Korriban. When they were still an apprentice, the Emperor's Wrath of the Second Great Galactic War found one such armor in the Tomb of Naga Sadow. It lay in a Sith sarcophagus along with an ancient lightsaber, still containing the corpse of a long-dead Sith Lord. Another was stored amongst other artifacts in Darth Thanaton' private library.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
The look of this armor was probably based on that of Naga Sadow, who first appeared in Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith 1: Masters and Students of the Force in 1994. It features the same type of flat-topped headdress and a protective skirt reminiscent of military officers of the ancient Rome .
