- "Andoorni is a huntress who decided that joining the most celebrated hunting band in the galaxy - Rogue Squadron - is a way of furthering her reputation."
- ―Ooryl Qyrgg[src]
Andoorni Hui was a Rodian female who served as a pilot for Rogue Squadron for the New Republic Defense Force. She was killed during the First Battle of Borleias.
[edit] Biography
Andoorni Hui was chosen by Wedge Antilles as one of the inaugural pilots when he reformed Rogue Squadron in 6.5 ABY. Her call sign was Rogue Twelve. She flew in the squadron's Three Flight, which was led by Lieutenant Corran Horn.
It was thought by members of the squadron that she may have been under a death mark, as at the time, most Rodians were thought to work with the Empire. However, she joined the elite squadron in order to further her reputation as a hunter, which was considered very important in Rodian culture.
During a covert assault by a platoon of Imperial stormtroopers to kill the Rogues in their sleep at their training base in Talasea, Andoorni was seriously injured and her roommate and wingmate, Lujayne Forge, was killed. Due to the extent of Andoorni's wounds, as well as complications from the Rodian metabolism, she spent more than twice as much time recovering in a bacta tank onboard the Nebulon-B frigate Reprieve than any of her comrades.
She was permitted to attend a memorial ceremony for Forge and six other slain sentries, but was too weak to stand unaided and was fitted with a hover chair. Her presence at the ceremony, despite tremendous injuries, demonstrated her loyalty to her squadron and fallen wingmate.
Andoorni recovered in time to fly in the First Battle of Borleia, where Rogue Squadron suffered heavy losses. Rogue Squadron were escorting assault shuttles carrying New Republic infantry troops to the Imperial base on the planet of Borleias after it appeared the shields and weapons of the base had been destroyed. However, due to unexpected base defenses installed by Imperial General Evir Derricote, the shields and weapons were reactivated, and several Rogue pilots, including Andoorni, were ambushed by reserve TIE squadrons.
After the lateral stabilizer of her X-wing starfighter was damaged, a TIE Interceptor fired shots at her engine and destroyed her craft, killing Andoorni. Corran Horn, who had tried to assist Andoorni, immediately eliminated the TIE that destroyed her.
Peshk Vri'syk, a Bothan Rogue Squadron pilot, was also killed during the battle.
