[edit] History
Anoth was the site of a victory for the Confederacy of Independent Systems over the Galactic Republic during the early stages of the Clone Wars.[2]
By the time of the Galactic Civil War, Anoth was unrecorded on any chart and was chosen by Luke Skywalker and Admiral Ackbar as the primary hiding place for Leia Organa Solo's Jedi children. The two largest components of Anoth were close enough to scrape together, causing powerful static discharges between them and bathing the third fragment in sensor-masking electrical storms. The third piece orbited a safe distance from the other two and held an atmosphere in its valleys in spite of its relatively low gravity.
In 11 ABY, Ambassador Furgan launched an attack on the world using MT-ATs in an attempt to capture the children. For several years later, the New Republic base was abandoned, to see if the word of the planet's existence got out. When it apparently didn't, Han and Leia Organa Solo began refurbishing the base as their own private retreat.
During the Almanian Uprising, Leia's children were again sent to Anoth, to keep them safe.[3]
