Apatros was a world in the Outer Rim Territories. It was a moon-sized world with a thin atmosphere and had only native plant life. It orbited a dim orange star. It had a twenty hour rotation. Apatros had one moon.
Around 1,003 BBY, it was a Galactic Republic world and was the site of a cortosis mine, run by the Outer Rim Oreworks Company. The only known settlement had the same name as the planet. It was a kilometer-square, containing mostly prefab buildings built to house the miners. One of the few businesses in town was a cantina owned by Groshik, a Neimoidian.
The cortosis mine during that period was run by two shifts, with each shift lasting ten hours. There was a rule in the mines that stated if one miner stopped working his claim it was open for anyone else to mine. One of the miners was a man named Dessel. He was born on the planet and eventually became the dreaded Sith Lord Darth Bane after he killed his father, Hurst, out of anger after a harsh beating.
