Argai was a planet in the Cronese Mandate, located in the Outer Rim. The planet was the homeworld of the infamous conqueror, Xim the Despot. Xim's father, Xer VIII, conquered nearby worlds in the Cronese Sweeps, founding the Kingdom of Cron. Xim came to power on Argai in 25,130 BBY, and extended his domain from the Radama Void to the borders of Hutt Space. After Xim's death, his Empire broke into feuding states, of which the Kingdom of Cron was one. Argai lost its status as capital to the planet Chandaar, ruled by the House of Cron.
[edit] Behind the scenes
Outbound Flight speaks of a Republic member world called Argai in Haldeen Sector of the Colonies. This is actually Argai Minor.
Argai may be named for Aigai, near modern Vergina, in Macedonia, Greece. Aigai was the capital of Philip of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great, who was used as a model for Xim the Despot in later writings.
