A member of the Galactic Republic, the Aristocracy was, before 24 BBY, the legitimate government of the Koradin sector. That year, the Virgillian Civil War began with a revolt of the Virgillian Free Alignment. For two years, until the start of the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic attempted to mediate an end to the dispute, to no avail. It is unknown if either faction was involved in the Clone Wars. After the formation of the Galactic Empire, the Aristocracy received Imperial support. The support was apparently tepid, however, as the civil war dragged on for decades without resolution. After the start of the Galactic Civil War, the Alignment allied itself with the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

In 4 ABY, shortly before the Battle of Endor, the Aristocracy finally surrendered control of the Sector to the Alignment, thus ending both the civil war and its own existence.
