Arkanian Renegades

The Arkanian Renegades were a group of geneticists on Arkania who attempted to overthrow the planet's government in 50 BBY. They objected to the systematic alteration of the Yaka species by means of involuntary cybernetic implants, and built a legendary army of cyborgs almost from scratch to defeat the Dominion. They were ultimately defeated by the timely intervention of the Jedi Knights, but some of their creations—Gorm the Dissolver among them—lived on.
After the failure of the revolt, several hundred surviving Renegades fled offworld to found a colony in the Outer Rim Territories. Little is known about them except that they were all of a particular racial offshoot bred specifically for mining. This group was known specifically for their Human-like eyes and pointy ears.
