The arool was a species of cactus that was native to Ithor,^[1] a planet in the Ottega sector.^[source?] The arool was one of several semi-sentient plant species on the planet;^[1] others included the bafforr and the vesuvague trees.^[3] The arool was poisonous to Humans.^[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The arool was created by Dave Wolverton for the short story The Sand Tender: The Hammerhead's Tale. It later received entries in the Star Wars Encyclopedia (1998) and The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia (2008), both mistakenly spelled "arrol."
