Artorias was a peace-loving Outer Rim planet with little defenses.

HistoryEdit

Since the time of the Galactic Civil War, the planet was ruled by King Caled Galfridian. The planet was opposed to the rule of the Galactic Empire, and Galfridian fought with the Rebel Alliance at the Battle of Hoth. When it was rumored that the Empire would be expanding its presence into the Outer Rim, Galfridian returned to the planet to oversee construction of a deep sea shelter to protect the populace. However, by the time the shelter was finished, the Galactic Civil War was over. Following the end of the war, many refugees seeking a peaceful existence emigrated to Artorias.^[2]

In 25 ABY it became one of the first planets to fall during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. The planet's ecosystem was destroyed and its inhabitants were all evacuated, enslaved, or killed. A resistance force was formed under King Caled to disrupt the Vongforming, using powerful explosives planted in key areas of the terraforming facilities.^[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Essential Atlas's appendix incorrectly places the Artorias system to L-2 grid coordinates. The maps of the Yuuzhan Vong War places it to K-3, near Dubrillion. The Online Companion corrected the coordinates.
