As an MC75 cruiser produced by Mon Calamari Shipyards, the Aspiration was 1,204.44 meters in length, 435.56 meters in height, and could achieve speeds of 650 kilometers per hour. It was equipped with a Class 1 hyperdrive, twelve repurposed Kuat Drive Yards sublight thrusters, a deflector shield generator, and a hangar bay.
In 18 BBY, during the defense of the southern polar regions by Admiral Raddus during the occupation of Mon Cala by the Galactic Empire, Raddus ordered the vessels of the Mon Cala Mercantile Fleet under his command to de-link and escape Mon Cala following a command to surrender by King Lee-Char. Several ships managed to escape in the first exodus, forming the Mon Calamari Exodus Fleet led by Raddus.
The Aspiration was one of the first wave of city-ships to escape Mon Cala's subjugation and would integrate with the fleet of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. During its service, the Aspiration engaged and damaged an Imperial Victory-class Star Destroyer.
