The assassination attempt on Baroness Omnino was a false-flag attempt on Baroness Omnino's life. It was orchestrated by Omnino herself with the goal of gaining sympathy from the Galactic Senate during her long-running conflict against the Vena Isolationists, as well as discrediting the Jedi Order. The Baroness mind-controlled a Senate Guard into trying to kill her, but he only managed to take out her bodyguard in the process, since Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, disguised as a Senate Guard, intervened.
