There were at least three types of assault droids during the Mandalorian Wars:

• Assault droid Mark I, whose structure was slightly humaniod.
• Assault droid Mark II, quadrupedal and armed for melee combat.
• Assault droid Mark IV, quadrupedal and armed with dual blasters.

These should not be confused for the Assault battle droid manufactured by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars for destroying vehicles and turrets on the battlefield.
