The Attack on the Borderland Regions was a massive Imperial military operation in 10 ABY, conducted on fringe worlds in the Borderland Regions.

BackgroundEdit

The Borderland Regions was at the time a militarized zone separating the territories of the New Republic and the Galactic Empire, and was the site of most remaining Galactic Civil War battle zones.

Having completed a number of World Devastator superweapons, the Empire wanted to properly test the vessels before sending them up against heavier military targets, and so chose several fringe planets in these regions for testing of their power.

The operationEdit

Burning away the surface, planets were devastated by the attack of the World Devastators. Little could be done to halt their advance and many lost their lives in the destruction.

AftermathEdit

Having seen the initial results, reborn Emperor Palpatine ordered a fleet of World Devastators to attack Mon Calamari and other worlds which had been a thorn in his side in previous years.

The New Republic would hear of the destruction, prior to the First Battle of Mon Calamari, but didn't realize its cause until Mon Calamari was hit.
